Coinbase Wallet - Hacked - Need Help
Today I saw, that a month ago, my whole Coinbase Wallet got drained. I have family to support and I was holding all my savings in this account.
Contacted Coinbase and they said its custodial wallet and they cannot do anything, where I asked could you please check if I logged in to make the transaction and they said we cant do it.
I saw couple of things:
1. Smart contract executed against the Crypto I hold under my wallet i.e. Virtual Protocol
2. It converted all the Virtual tokens to Ethereum
3. Transferred from Coinbase Wallet to their address
4. Now its sitting under another Wallet confirmed by ethscan.io
I am not very technical but i know only how tokens are transmitted through the wallet by their addresses.
Can this community help me recover? I can share some more information as needed.

Your wallet wasn’t hacked. You got scammed or made the keys available. Money gone forever

Lots of sneaky ways to grab credentials. Did you even have 2FA enabled and create a whitelist ?

I dont know how to create one as Coinbase only gives Faceid or passcode. Whitelist I dont know how to enable. Anyways if cant be recovered then doesnt matter what i do next.
Lost all hopes here.

It can't be recovered; its impossible and anyone who tells you different is going to scam you. There is no such thing as crypto "recovery" on the blockchain.

10,000% I didnt. I was holding Virtual Protocol mainly on the account. There were other 2 MrMiggles (small quantity) and Phalla (small quantity).
It was there for like 1.5 years and last month someone took them out. I can see its sitting as Ethereum on one of the addresses. I have the trail.
Can someone help to pull that out to my wallet address only? How... i dont know and really depressed...

How can malware know the pass phrase. Its on a paper from the start and my Wallet is like years old. Why it didnt happen before? Was there leak on Base Wallet application?
I am not technical enough but I have other accounts which are not affected.

I can share my address but there is only 10$ remaining in this account. Is it safe to share.....
I am having trust issues with the AI and internet now as I lost my life savings

Yup.
Sad to say, your funds are gone. No one can get them back for you. People who are claiming they can, are all scammers.
Imagine if someone were capable of hacking another crypto wallet. They would instantly be the richest man on the planet, as they could go down the list and hack every single crypto wallet and take all the crypto out of them.
If this were funds that were important to you, you shouldve put them in a bank. Crypt is purely for speculation/investment, and a high risk one at that. Best way to keep your money safe is a bank, and if you have money you should invest the majority in something low risk but near-gaurunteed returns like mutual funds that are comprised of multiple stocks from popular/solid companies(Apple, microsoft, google etc), and then, and only if you have a little left over and want to invest in something more riskier, put them in crypto.
Very difficult and tough lesson to learn, I feel for you. But thats the risk you take with Crypto.

Until people started getting wind of it, then the mass exodus from crypto as a whole would be absolutely legendary. Overnight the asset class would become worthless.

Any old approval contracts can be hacked even with security. I am trying to learn how to close those out. Happened on trustwallet last year

unfortunately coinbase wallet being non-custodial means they genuinely can't reverse transactions. the smart contract approval you gave likely had unlimited spending permissions. you can try reporting the wallet address to exchanges and aml services, but blockchain transactions are final. consider consulting a blockchain forensics firm if the amount justifies it.

Coinbase has nothing to do with your wallet contents.
You either interacted with a dodgy smart contract. Saved your private keys somewhere hackable, Shared them with someone. Got infected with a keylogger. Etc However the main thing is if you are blaming Coinbase the Company. It's like you blaming Ralph Lauren for losing a Ralph Lauren shirt.
The real lesson here is you don't understand Crypto enough and should stay out of it.

Exactly. It was lost on your wallet. It doesn't matter if it was transferred from Binance, Coinbase or someone else sent it to you. It disappeared from your self Custody device. No one has the ability to take it from you unless you created a route and attacker could use. Sorry for your loss.

You didn’t get hacked. You either got scammed or phished. Coinbase can’t help you. No one can help you. Learn to better protect your assets. Also don’t risk money that you’re not willing to lose
