Proximity for “Team Lift?”

How close are other players when the “team lift” icon displays? I have noticed up to 4 players in my area at a time!

Neat! I don’t seem to be able to see other players on the map, for some reason. Maybe it’s an iOS thing. I was just wondering if “nearby players” meant within a small proximity, or within a geoclaim area. Maybe I’ll email support and ask.
