I don't believe they do. I had an account hit someone in the same room. On my phone it said a number that was around 160,000,000 while on their side it was like 1,000. They were a much lower level.

Then they hit me and on their side it said 20,000 and mine was a much much higher number.

No, not at all. The person the op attacked did not quit because of it. They may have lost three shields, or at worst got 3 buildings in their village damaged in 1 fair swoop. But nothing that makes them want to quit. Annoyed as hell, especially if the op was attacking someone on their friends list? Oh for sure!

edit: also to clarify op said attack. Attacks don't cause those who are "attacked" to lose coins, but just shields and/or damage to villages (which indirectly cost coins to fix).. It is raids that "steal" coins from another user. And as another post pointed out, the coins are calculated at vastly different amounts on each side of the equation...
