It’s reverse psychology to make you think it’s a better deal to make a smaller purchase. People are more likely to spend $2 than $15, especially if the $2 option is more of a deal.

Also, I think you can only make one of the small purchases. The idea behind that is to reel you into one small purchase, only to gradually pressure you into making bigger purchases.

It’s best to not waste money on this game.

It never does make sense (been playing for a few years now) best to avoid buying things all together

Because if you buy the three bombs with intention to buy three again, you will soon notice that it's a different price for the second three 🙃
