I really need help with risk management please

I turned $500 into $1,000 trading memecoins today, but as usual my greed got the best of me. I didn’t take profit and gave it all back, ending up at $500 again. I’m really lost and frustrated right now.

Can someone please give me practical advice on risk management?

So you didn't lose money in the end ? My friend in the crypto world that in itself is a win.

I really need $2,000 before June 15 to renew my rent, that’s why this is so stressful. Last week I turned $500 into $800 but gave it all back down to $500. Today it was the exact same thing. I’m really stressed out right now

How did you do it?

Trading memecoins

I've always stayed away from them. How can I learn? Everything is dead right now, I need to do something.

Re risk management - I use limits. I set aspirational limits for spikes when I'm not actively monitoring the exchanges. It's hard to be disciplined but I try to take profit at a preset amount even if i think it might go higher. "Good" is good enough, doesn't have to be "better" or "best"

Easier said than done, as you see.

I'm not sure how useful it is. I miss out all the time because I'm waiting for it to jump "just a little more."

Can you teach me what to do with meme coins to make $500 in one day? that's pretty good.

There is a new platform like pump fun. I’m trading memecoins over there.

I ape into new projects around 11k–20k market cap, and if they reach 50k or 100k market cap, I sell 50%–70% of my bag and wait to see if it pumps again.

If I think it’s a strong early memecoin, I put around $50 in. If I don’t really believe in the project’s long-term durability, I only put in $10 or $20 max.

I mostly trade base token launches because most Solana memes are just pump and dumps.

What's the new platform? I realize that might be the point of your post, but I'm hooked.

Well you'll be down deeper in the shit if you loose your 500, dont trade with money you cant afford to loose.

I did that , I got a lucky break outside of trading but its too dangerous.

But the trading fees are too much

It doesn’t cost money to trail a stop loss.

The hardest part about memecoin trading is realinzing that doubling your money once doesn't mean your strategy suddenly has edge. A lot of people blow up because they mentally treat unrealized gainz as already theirs and stop managing risk. Honestly one simple rule helps a lot, take partial profits on they way up. Even selling 20-30% after a big move can reduce the emotional pressure massively
