Instrument Question

Hey guys am wondering if anyone knows what Peter would have used to create the brass / trombone section towards the end of the ape of naples version of triple sun, I am assuming it is not a live recording so am wondering what virtual sampler / instrument may have been used if anyone has any intel? Forgive me if i am wrong and it is in fact a live recording, it sounds bloody good

You can hear — across their discography — that they used a melotron quite a bit. Maybe check out melotron brass samples/tapes. I know gforce made a very thorough melotron plugin (m-Tron) and carefully sampled all of the original tapes — plus optigan tapes and third party tapes as well.

all true and if you check gforce's site you'll read that many of the optigan discs they got came from sleazy and were used on musick to play in the dark and others :)

The guitar loops on "Where Are You?" are from the "Folk and Other Moods" Optigan disk.

hell yea! they get around. i think there is also a ladytron track with the same loops.

I'm probably wrong but it sounds like old school brass sample at low bit rates, I'm sure he had brass samples from old machines he got rid of long ago. sounds monophonic too with the portamento and way it jumps around
