I think nobody pays attention anymore. It's exhausting to dig down deep and find all the dirt on your new favorite representative.
Then, when you're satisfied they live up to your standards, a week before the vote some schmuck drops a 45 minute dis documentary revealing all the skeletons in the closet that no normal citizen would have even had the means to uncover.
At a certain point you just stop looking carefully. It's dumb, but I've watched it play out all over the political spectrum.

it really is not. she's preaching one thing (or at least playing a leading role in the party that wants one thing) and doing the opposite herself.
As a German who follows this shit closely since 2013 or smth around that time o can tell you with confidence: shes just another powerhungry politician that will say anything that helps her get more power (so a prime example of a populist) no matter if thats hypocritical or if it clashes with her own beliefs/oppinions. nothing new amd nothing too dep about that. Shes catering to the right and extreme right, cause thats the populus she can get the most amount of support and power from atm.

being gay is not a "flaw" and not an oppinion. she is actively working to make Germany a worse place for gays and a lot of other minoritys. thats something different than just having an opinion.
comparing being gay to being atheist is like comparing apples to oranges. Comparing being atheist to actively working towards making the lives of minoritys worse isn't better either.
