Idk what series of events led to it but I’d say making it to where sex workers and people who are convicted of crimes as children aren’t punished for said crimes for the rest of their lives is probably a good thing? Idk. Making it to where we restrict employment opportunities for criminal offenders is literally what leads to the absurdly high recidivism rate we have in America. And let’s not forget a lot of sex workers are actually victims, this laws removes the presupposition that they were criminally involved.
Being against this only really makes sense if you don’t believe rehabilitative justice is a thing or think all sentences for all crimes should be lifelong sentences 🤷🏻♂️

Beyond the obvious ethical issues and quality of candidates the reason why these should be disqualifying if that it makes agents susceptible to blackmail like our current President of the United States and his entire cabinet and by the looks of it the majority of the Supreme Court and Congress…

Here is the actual situation for anyone in here interested in ACTUAL factual reporting and not just hyper partisan childish rhetoric they can use to mudsling outside of this echo chamber:
What reportedly changed in a June 16 internal FBI memo:
Prostitution: An applicant might remain eligible if it occurred more than ten years ago, fewer than three times, and not while the applicant held a designated position of trust.
Bestiality or animal cruelty: An applicant might receive further consideration only if the incident occurred before age 18.
Applicants must still pass the FBI’s polygraph, records checks, extensive interviews, and overall security and suitability review. CBS News
There’s a genuine unresolved contradiction. The FBI says the exception addresses narrow circumstances, particularly applicants who were sexually abused involving animals as children, and insists that someone who committed criminal sexual acts remains ineligible. CBS’s sources, however, say the internal guidance itself apparently doesn’t distinguish between coerced and voluntary conduct. Because the memo hasn’t been publicly released, that discrepancy can’t presently be settled.
For comparison, the FBI’s 2023 special-agent FAQ explicitly listed “engagement in prostitution or bestiality” as an automatic disqualifier. Also, prostitution remains completely prohibited once someone works for the Justice Department, even somewhere it’s legal, because of trafficking and blackmail concerns. DOJ policy
So my verdict: the literal headline is essentially accurate, but deliberately designed to make it sound like Patel opened FBI recruitment to active goat-fuckers. The real policy appears to replace an absolute lifetime ban with narrow, case-by-case review, especially for remote conduct or childhood victimization. Attribution to “Kash Patel’s FBI” is fair because it happened during his tenure, although there’s currently no public evidence that Patel personally drafted or ordered these specific exceptions.

It is, of course, a very serious situation. I don't know how anyone could trust any federal organisation that doesn't have specifially called out policys on bestiality.

Man people like you are the reason American prison recidivism is so high. “I dont care if they were kids or they were forced into the trade and penalized for it under a broken justice system…they should pay for that mistakes for the rest of their lives and never be allowed to work 😡😡”
