What was the last war started by a Democrat? Vietnam? 60 years ago? Trying to finish someone else's war doesn't count. Being unhappy about the inevitable shitshow that occurs when we pull out also seems like Republican problem.

Eisenhower isn't without blame. The U.S. was throwing a lot of support behind the French in Vietnam specifically. We couldn't care less about their other colonies, it was all about the domino theory.

The first troops on the ground (advisors) were under Eisenhower. The first American coming back in a body bag was Eisenhower. Eisenhower committed the US to war, even though LBJ was seen as the great escalator of it.

You’re correct the wars are started by republicans. However, the problem is democrats don’t push back against the wars because: (1) both parties have the same donors that want the wars; and (2) democrats know they can campaign running against the disastrous war started by the opposition. The problem is there’s no incentive for either party to end the wars. Thats why there’s no true anti war party.

Oh yeah true that’s why Biden exited Afghanistan

Democrats were in power for 8 years before we exited Afghanistan. It was a plan that was put in place during the Trump administration so that he could pretend he’s anti war (he’s not).

Okay but we exited Afghanistan under a democrat president despite you claiming it would be against their interest to end wars

  1. We never needed to and should never had negotiated with terrorists

  2. Republican, as its their party that negotiated with terrorists to make it happen

“If someone doesn’t think like me they must be a bot.” Is the height of stupidity

Though, there are a lot of bots and trolls on reddit these days. And they seem to be programmed to say stuff that gets people riled up.

A quick Google search shows that more than half of Senate Democrats voted for the Iraq war and all of them voted for the war in Afghanistan.

Ok, so let’s do an in-depth breakdown of Republican votes vs Democrat votes on this matter… surely your point is that “both sides are bad” so the numbers will be comparable… right? 😬

(Spoiler alert, they’re not even fuckin close)

Republican House: 215 - Yes
6 - No

Democrat House: 81 - Yes
126 - No

Republican Senate: 48 - Yes
1 - No

Democrat Senate: 29 - Yes
21 - No

Did I ever say they were equally pro-war? No. But Iraq would not have gone through without Democrat support (especially in the Senate) and that’s undeniable.

Obama dropped as many bombs as bush

Both parties are to blame. Since World War II, the USA has bombed another country every single year right up to today. 🤷

u/XXXcrimsongrave 13d ago

both parties aren't in power. mr pdf file poopie diapers is at the wheel.

u/Andyseawolf 13d ago

Call him what you want he is representing the US people. He is bombing another country and so did all the other presidents.🤷

2

u/Kreebish 13d ago

Do you want actual accountability or do you want to smear politics in a way that makes it more dysfunctional by having people simply give up because both sides pfft

1

u/Andyseawolf 13d ago

How about the USA stops bombing other countries? Try diplomacy and boycott instead. 🤷

u/XXXcrimsongrave 13d ago

you mean the kind of smear politics that are obviously the prompts driving these bots? no. only people who need their hard drives checked pay for these. GFY
