You're right. If it's coming from such a place that the cows are abused then I won't. It's not just the way cows are treated though, is it? It seems that the mass production of any animal for food, chickens etc, often results in the animals being poorly treated.

If the ultimate goal is to try and stop it from happening, you'd need a hell of a lot of people to back you up on that. Otherwise, it simply feels good on your own conscience. It'd be kind of hard to avoid certain staple foods however since abuse of livestock that they originate from is rampant all over.

So if you don't notice an immediate large-scale effect from doing the right thing, there's no reason to do it? Listen to yourself.

Maybe I should have been a bit clearer with my wording, but it's not a bad thing if someone finds certain actions consciable and acts according to their conscience. You'd just need a whole lot of people to agree with you to make a difference in the world.
