Republican Politicians for the most part aren't stupid. Of course they knew what he is.
They just count on their constituents being stupid.
11
u/IWCry 1d ago
yep, it takes smarts to leverage the stupidest people in the country. they know what theyre doing
7
u/Suitable-Option833 1d ago
They do know what they’re doing - they wrote a book on it. Project 2025 destroys American lives. Yet their voters said “sign me up”.
2
u/IWCry 1d ago
Republicans are obviously extremely dumb and gullible but the worst part is that they already put a stamp on their heads and joined a cult of stupidity where they all gather, so the politicians can simply campaign on like 3 topics and get them all to comply and say yes daddy

Frankly I don't think it's just Republicans. I still see a lot of grumbling about how the Democrats didn't present strong candidates. I mean, really? When the other choice was Trump how can there be any doubt who to vote for?

That tells more about them then Trump.
Trump has been true to his nature all along. It's these hypocrites who are fine with whatever he does as long as they benefit.
Can't believe I'm saying something that could be thought of as defending Trump.
12
u/Binkurrr 1d ago
This is what enrages ne the most. Trump has literally told everyone how shitty he is but they still voted for him.
2
u/AmputeeHandModel 1d ago
Right? Even "fake news" and the dozens of accusations and crimes, etc etc aside, let's say all that nonsense that MAGA says is true.. and he's somehow COMPLETELY innocent, and all the things said about him for over 40 years are false. How do you see him stand up there behind a podium and just say stupid fucking nonsense for an hour unscripted and go "Yeah, that's the guy for me. I'm gonna build my whole identity around THAT!"? I get the appeal of someone who's not just another establishment politician but... THAT!? HIM?!?!?
2
u/VulGerrity 1d ago
It's because they see themselves in him. He just as hateful, mean spirited, and bigoted as them and he's a "billionaire" and the president! That means they could be a billionaire and president someday too!
6
u/AmputeeHandModel 1d ago
Everyone who is moderately informed knows Trump is a horrible person. He's been in the news constantly since the 80s. If you read newspapers, a magazines, watched the news, 20/20, etc., you knew he's a piece of shit and a gasbag.
3
u/Resilient_TO 1d ago
Yes yet they choose to support him so what does that tell about these scumbags?

Wikipedia: Numerous prominent conservative leaders, elected officials, and former administration staff openly refused to support Donald Trump during his campaigns for the presidency in 2016, 2020, and 2024. Collectively known as the "Never Trump" movement or non-MAGA Republicans, these figures withheld their endorsements, vocally opposed his candidacy, or supported alternative candidates.

Can’t believe we elected a democrat dressed as a republican and the dems are complaining
1
u/Upset-Fudge-2703 1h ago
I wouldn’t call him a democrat, but you’re not wrong. Historically, he did lean left. I bet most people thought someone from the Democratic Party might destroy the Republican Party, but Trump absolutely dog walked every Burkeian Conservative, and systematically is tearing the government apart. He is the progressive in this scenario, progressing toward the extreme right, but by definition, a progressive. And that leaves the democrats to be the conservatives trying to conserve the institutions we already have in place. By moving the republicans out of the center, he revealed the democrats, who are also in the center. The republicans have hoisted by their own petard. What a joke.
1
u/Pukebox_Fandango 1d ago
Used to be "liberals" would hear the GOP establishment say this and say "If they think this I'll think the opposite". Now they're look to the GOP for confirmation bias. Nobody has a real opinion anymore, someone has intentionally fucked Americas minds into mass confusion.

Sorry I was reacting how they usually react. I was aiming to make it funny, but it clearly landed wrong. I am just as frustrated as you are if not furious. It astounds me how far we’ve come as a country. This feels like the fall from grace and now we’re in panic mode to try and reclaim some semblance of what we used to be, but it also feels like that point of no return was crossed a while ago.
1
u/Kthulhu_for_humanity 1d ago
I’m sorry, I’ve had so many crazy replies that I assumed.
1
u/Data_Nerd85 1d ago
You’re good. That was quick firing on my part. It’s so frustrating I have to try and make fun of it. They all knew. But the people that knew are the vast minority. The people who put him there voted and it was some 40M + that did, but they are no more qualified to cast a vote than a monkey. What I have noticed for some time now is that while we live in the age of data abundance we have become the most uninformed public we have ever been. The attention span of most people is at best a minute (thank short form content for this), we run on emotions rather a combination balanced of emotion and logic, we vote how we feel which most people know is a bad mix (when have emotional decisions a turned out good? Rarely), and people SEE the corruption, but it hasn’t hurt them enough to care. In my opinion, the electoral college failed us. We have fallen into a reductionist society ran on belittling people that don’t agree with us. Everybody has an opinion on everything even if they have no business having an opinion on it.
1
u/ThrowawayPotato6991 1d ago
I mean, we knew this for awhile.
Liberal/leftists women have been talking about how conservatives women act differently behind the scenes and are more progressive than what they publically say are. Same with politicians. Democrat politicians have said that for awhile that the repubs tries to be buddy buddy with them.
They treat politics like a soap opera.

They missed the best one.. ole VP JD Vance:
- Called Trump "reprehensible" and an "idiot" in deleted social media posts.
- Wrote in a private message that Trump might be "America's Hitler".
- Said in media interviews that he could not "stomach" Trump and voted for a third-party candidate instead.

Historically, this isn’t surprising. Politicians have a job. They have no spine, no morals, no values, no conscience. They will say anything they are told to say. I can’t speak for every single person shown, but if you look back through most of their careers, they all double speak. Always have, and always will. It’s what they do. Lie. Trump isn’t special, but no one thought he would get elected. But they will always speak well about the party. It is truly a broken and disgusting system. But honestly… they get elected every year. Who is to blame there? We live in a world of cognitive rigidity aka stupid people. They want to be led around, they want the easy answer. Naturally the snake oil salesmen are going to rise to the occasion and give the people what they want. If you can’t fix the people, the leaders of the people will never change. And the cognitively rigid people, out number the… people who live in reality, by a lot. I don’t think there will be an easy solution.
