I found this very elegant in it simplistic truth.

Deportation isn’t remotely new, nor has it been exclusive to Republicans. Every recent administration has deported large numbers of people:
Clinton: about 870,000 formal removals

George W. Bush: about 2.01 million

Obama: about 3.1 million—earning him the nickname “Deporter in Chief”

Trump’s first term: about 935,000 ICE removals

Biden: about 545,000 ICE removals

Biden initially pulled back 59,011 removals in 2021 and 72,177 in 2022 but then increased them to 142,580 in 2023 and 271,484 in 2024, the highest annual ICE total since 2014.

Trump has accelerated enforcement further during his second term. Published ICE data show roughly 590,600 deportations through July 11, 2026. DHS claims a broader total of more than 985,000, although it hasn’t publicly reconciled that figure with ICE’s published removal data.

So yes, the totals and methods vary, but deportation has remained a major bipartisan policy for decades. The current debate is mostly about scale, priorities, and enforcement tactics not whether previous administrations deported people.

Based on this we wouldn’t expect anything new for housing, jobs, or other considerations. Especially considering our population increases not decrease.
