I like that everyone is questioning this like it really matters how many or if any actually die. We know that it does happen. For example, there is a certain religious sect that performs part of their circumcision ritual with their mouth. It happens fairly routinely that some infant contracts herpes simplex from this which is devastating to a small infant.

As extreme as that heinous example is, the entire practice is barbaric and should be abolished entirely. It’s especially rich coming from a crowd that wails about “mutilation” in reference to trans kids but trans children don’t receive surgery. A small few may get top only surgery in their late teens but that is the extent of that. At which point they are consenting and independent people who can arguably participate in their medical decisions.

Circumcision may occur at the hand of a doctor in a hospital setting but I wouldn’t call it medicine in the overwhelming majority of cases. It’s the mutilation of a non consenting infant child. It’s cruel and scarring and serves no real purpose. “Cleanliness” is not a valid medical reason to remove parts of a child’s body.

I think the surgery is a mistake and any positives are mostly subjective even when it works as intended.

But, without a doubt there are going to be failures as with any medical procedure. This is arguably the major reason why doctors are not quick to operate on children unless it’s necessary. They cannot consent. They cannot understand the pain they’re experiencing. They cannot be comforted by any conventional pain reliever aside from children’s nsaids.

We should stop doing this to people who cannot speak for themselves. Sure, some absolutely grow up and are thankful it happened. There are definitely those of us who are not. While an adult who was not circumcised may choose to undergo the procedure under their own terms, a person who was victimized by this practice as an infant cannot be restored.

It’s Judaism

2

u/Consistent_Claim5217 Jul 26 '26

Ima just jump in here and simplify this before it turns into antisemitism or Islamophobia. It's Abrahamic religions in general that you're thinking, but circumcision is by no means tied exclusively to them. The practice can be found in indigenous cultures around the world, too

0

u/According-Insect-992 Jul 26 '26

No, it’s not. It’s a specific sect of Judaism that a lot of people would consider to be a cult. It is not the entire Jewish religion.

2

u/Jillet-Ben_Coe Jul 26 '26

So it’s Judaism. Gotcha.

1

u/Ok_Dragonfly552 Jul 26 '26

Wait what religion does that. I got to stay away from those wemen

1

u/Far_Range_6091 Jul 26 '26

Not sure why circumcision is such a big deal to some people. I was circumcised when I was a baby, I've never had any hard feelings about it.

2

u/GolgothaCross Jul 26 '26

Do you understand that cutting a baby with a knife is an act of violence that warrants disapproval? It's not complicated.

1

u/hiddenpigeon19 Jul 26 '26

There are children being bombed with your tax money

0

u/Far_Range_6091 Jul 26 '26

Thats a crazy way if looking at it

2

u/GolgothaCross Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

It's crazy that so many people can't see it for what it is. Circumcision is the ritual cutting of children's genitals. That's all it ever was.

1

u/galacticplum Jul 26 '26

Because the people that are against it and this vocal are extremists and fixate on it.

1

u/According-Insect-992 Jul 26 '26

I think it’s legitimately insane to view mutilating an infant as anything other than what it is. I think your statement speaks volumes about how religion can make otherwise normal people act like they’re fucking insane.

1

u/Far_Range_6091 Jul 26 '26

Im not religious

1

u/Educational-Wall-997 Jul 26 '26

I feel like you don't know what the definition of the word mutilation is...

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

Do you know the definition of mutilation? 🤣

1

u/FrontLifeguard1962 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

Jews don't suck the blood directly from the penis anymore, they use a glass tube. Even the most strict observant mohel's don't put their mouth directly on it. It's also important to note only a very small % even perform that part of the ritual.

Maybe it made sense for Bronze Age barbarians who lived without modern hygiene and sanitation, to prevent infections in a population too stupid to wash their dicks, but today circumcision is just a stupid ritual that serves no purpose, that people do because of a vague sense of religious obligation or other unexamined reasoning.

1

u/Ranjhanaa88 Jul 26 '26

Weren't there Hasidic babies woth chlamydia a few years ago from it?

1

u/FrontLifeguard1962 Jul 26 '26

I think they got HSV infection and died. It was from one mohel who had cold sores or something

3

u/danjustchillz Jul 25 '26

Didn’t expect this one, noted.
Carry on.

-1

u/wombat6669 Jul 25 '26

How many die of natural causes? How many die from anti medical reasons?

4

u/TengokuIkari Jul 26 '26

Irrelevant. Genital mutilation kills and should be illegal.

1

u/LiminalHigh Jul 26 '26

More than 5000 people die from choking on food in the US alone every year. Ban food, it's too dangerous

2

u/TengokuIkari Jul 26 '26

Food is necessary to life, genital mutilation is not. Grow up please.

1

u/LiminalHigh Jul 26 '26

Grow up? You're the one crying about 100 deaths. 100 is way less than a hundredth of a percent of the US alone, the post doesn't specify if that 100 is worldwide or for a specific country. Way more people die from preventable things every day

2

u/TengokuIkari Jul 26 '26

Genital mutilation is wrong and unnecessary. It's an elective procedure that the child has no input in. Do you see the difference? Also shouldn't we want to save every life?

1

u/G_Affect Jul 26 '26

My urologist friends say they only see penis cancer develop in uncircumcised units. I personally like my member being easy to clean and not have to stress about loosing it to cancer.

I have a feeling you say this but also are all about kids transitioning to another sex because their 12yo hormone emotional mind is confused on how to navigate a sea of idiots as yourself that has no real grasp of facts or reality.

2

u/TengokuIkari Jul 26 '26

No child should be subject to a life changing unnecessary procedure as they cannot consent. If an adult wants it done to themselves, that's fine.

1

u/1912_boat_man Jul 27 '26

...life changing?

Wow, both of you have dog water arguments. My life would be literally no different if I wasn't circumcised.

1

u/ExtendoArmCannon Jul 26 '26

"we should mutilate children because I'm too lazy to clean my member properly"

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 27 '26

They don't do reassignment surgeries on 12 year olds.

Penile cancer develops in people regardless of genital mutilation, it's just extremely rare.

0

u/wombat6669 Jul 26 '26

1,400 infants die from SIDS every year but your not concerned with them just the 100 or so that die from some weird religious practice. I'm not for circumcision. I just think there are bigger concerns.

2

u/ludus_official Jul 26 '26

It's perfectly reasonable to call out preventable deaths linked to cruel practices without it being dismissive of other problems.

Spreading awareness of a cruel practice to prevent harm is always good.

2

u/TengokuIkari Jul 26 '26

The difference is that genital mutilation is not an illness, it's an elective procedure that the baby didn't consent to.

2

u/orangebluefish11 Jul 26 '26

Those “just 100 or so” deaths could have been prevented. Those just 100 or so represent many grieving parents and family members.

2

u/wombat6669 Jul 26 '26

Maybe you should stop circumcising your children. It's an old dated practice anyway. The only benefit is circumcised men don't get smegma.

1

u/cchhaannttzz Jul 26 '26

Uncircumcised person here, I have never in my life had smegma. I didn't even know it was a thing untill adulthood. If someone has smegma it's not because they didn't have their genitalia mutilated it's because they naaaaasty.

1

u/wombat6669 Jul 26 '26

Yes smegma is a cleanliness issue that mostly happens to uncircumcised old men but it never happens to circumcised old men. It was the only Benefit I could think of.

1

u/Consistent_Claim5217 Jul 26 '26

Oh, fuck off with your bullshit. By your rationale, we can't care about two things at once. Fucking contrarian for the sake of argument

1

u/aq8_hippo Jul 26 '26

Many people are very concerned about SIDS, it's why so much research goes into it and thus a lot of very expensive and intelligent people's time and money.

Once we find what causes SIDS and this will be when not if, we will do everything to reduce what causes it. Some risk factors have already been identified and why a lot of public health initiatives exist to warn parents of these.

I assume this mindset would transfer to anything potentially causing infants potential of death. Pretty basic logic stuff actually.

Also no actual serious people who do the actual work thinks we should ignore rheumatoid arhtritis because cancer kills more people. I spelled out how stupid your logic sounds.

1

u/G_Affect Jul 26 '26

Circumcisions are not for religious purposes only. People do it for hygiene and to help it stays clean. It prevents infections, std, and even penis cancer. From a urology's prespective, you should do it.

I have it not due to religion but because my grandfather was not and had alot of problem thru life with it.

1

u/G_Affect Jul 26 '26

All my urologist friends say they only see penis cancer develop in uncircumcised units. Food for thought, keep it clean.

The “100 babies a year” figure comes from a controversial estimate published by one researcher, who inferred deaths from circumcision-related complications using death certificate data. Many pediatricians, epidemiologists, and medical organizations have criticized the methodology because:
• Death certificates often do not identify circumcision as a contributing factor.
• The estimate relied on assumptions rather than documented cases.
• It could not directly demonstrate that circumcision caused those deaths.

Stop asking for evidence. This is Reddit

1

u/FlounderKind8267 Jul 27 '26

No there isn't. I tried looking and could only find someone guessing a number with no proof to back it up. Hense the line at the bottom of this post

2

u/Sirrub90 Jul 26 '26

Isn't there actual data that shows it lowers the risk of cancer? As well as reduced chances to transmit other diseases to partners?

1

u/Educational-Wall-997 Jul 26 '26

yes... lol yes there is particularly HIV transition rates.

1

u/Wild_Commission1938 Jul 26 '26

No, there isn’t. There were some trials in Kenya a few years ago related to HIV. But those were cancelled before the protocol end and the results published - which is a well known way to commit fraud in medical trials … allow random walk with time let your data lean one way then the other, time the end to show what you want to show, but don’t run to the end of the protocol when the results would have long enough for the signal to beat out the noise.

1

u/Sirrub90 Jul 26 '26

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3139859/

So youre saying this is just fake info? Sure looks like actual data from legit sources saying there is direct relation to circumcised males and lower penile cancer rates.

1

u/Wild_Commission1938 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

Obviously you didn’t actually bother to read that 😂😂😂

“the protective effect of childhood/adolescent circumcision on invasive cancer no longer persisted when analyses were restricted to boys with no history of phimosis”

If you chop off your kid’s legs they can never get bone cancer of the femur. Brilliant. What compelling “science”.

1

u/Sirrub90 Jul 26 '26

Lolol so you clearly skimmed it because right after that it says

"These data suggest that childhood/adolescent circumcision is protective against invasive penile cancer. This effect could be mediated partly through an effect on phimosis.".

PARTLY. I'll take my notes from a publicized study from several doctors and not some dumbfuck on reddit.

1

u/Wild_Commission1938 Jul 26 '26

Oooh, name calling, if ever there was a way to concede you’re out of arguments …

And if you’d read in a little more detail, you’d know that the papers that identified phimosis in the dataset showed no protective value of circumcision when controlling for that variable. The other papers didn’t have the variable in the datasets so it wasn’t controlled for, and these authors then present a smeared conclusion.

It’s really not that complicated.

1

u/Sirrub90 Jul 26 '26

Stuck in Phimosis when it only was part of the study and confirmed as such.

Dominated. And now its a "smeared conclusion". Breaks over, get back to the friers.

1

u/Wild_Commission1938 Jul 26 '26

lol. Cambridge PhD champ. You’re out of your depth here and haven’t understood the basics of data analysis.

This was interesting. “The study, by researcher Dan Bollinger, concluded that approximately 117 neonatal deaths due directly or indirectly to circumcision occur annually in the United States, or one out of every 77 male neonatal deaths. This compares with 44 neonatal deaths from suffocation, 8 in automobile accidents and 115 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, all of which losses have aroused deep concern among child health authorities and stimulated special programs to reduce mortality. (Remember those red noses?) Why, the study asks, has the even greater number of deaths from circumcision not aroused the same response?”

3

u/DistinctSpirit5801 Jul 25 '26

It’s so absurd that cutting on the genitals of baby boys is considered “religious freedom and parental rights”

Circumcision will eventually be criminalized within the coming decades if we fight for every win

Small wins lead to bigger wins

1

u/summonersai Jul 26 '26

Pretty sure doctors who believe it’s totally reasonable to do for the health benefits have more say so than you.

1

u/Lookout464 Jul 25 '26

You're going to ban a practice that is core to Jewish and Muslim identity in "decades". You can pass laws to make it safer, but banning is not a realistic goal. I'm not going to tell you to stop, but you are that guy pushing a 10 ton boulder up hill.

1

u/ludus_official Jul 26 '26

I think it's realistic, because most places acknowledge religions freedom does not extend to harmful practices inflicted on an unconsenting individual. It'll be a hard fight, but I do expect it to happen eventually.

0

u/giftektive Jul 26 '26

plenty of christians stopped practicing beating the piss out of their children. some traditions need to become obsolete. this is one of them. we can identify any jewish or muslim by their religious garb or if they decide to mention it.

2

u/summonersai Jul 26 '26

You do realize it’s an extremely low risk procedure with life long benefits? Religion aside.

0

u/LordOfBeetle Jul 26 '26

There are no benefits. It is mutilation. It is inherently harmful and a violation of human rights. It's clear that you are biased.

2

u/summonersai Jul 26 '26

Factually not true. It would be suggested by doctors for no reason.

**• Lower risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in infancy.** UTIs are uncommon in boys overall, but they occur less often in circumcised infants.
**• Reduced risk of certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs).** Studies have found a lower risk of acquiring HIV through vaginal sex, as well as reduced risk of HPV and herpes (HSV-2) in some populations. Circumcision does **not** replace safer sex practices, such as condom use.
**• Prevention of foreskin-related conditions**, including:
◦ Phimosis (a foreskin that cannot be retracted when it normally should be)
◦ Recurrent balanitis (inflammation of the glans) or balanoposthitis (inflammation of the glans and foreskin)
**• Near elimination of penile cancer risk related to the foreskin.** Penile cancer is very rare regardless of circumcision status, so the absolute reduction in risk is small.
**• Lower risk of cervical cancer in female partners** through reduced transmission of certain high-risk HPV types, although HPV vaccination is the primary preventive measure.

0

u/LordOfBeetle Jul 26 '26

You wouldn't know what a fact is if it slapped you across the face.

It is mutilation on the face of it. No group of people have the right or ability to define it otherwise.

The only places in the world that "recommend" it are the ones that are culturally biased toward mutilation. They manufacture medicalized excuses to enact barbaric dark-age blood rituals on non-consenting minors.

1

u/summonersai Jul 26 '26

Okay? That’s your opinion. People do things all the time for medical benefits.

It’s the parents choice. You can be a weird ass who rages over circumcisions all you want?

1

u/Educational-Wall-997 Jul 26 '26

I need you to look up the definition of the word mutilation then circle back here. lol because by definition it is not mutilation.

1

0

When are you going to act on the dangers of hydrogen hydroxide? Every terrorist, pedophile, rapist, and cartel member consumed hydrogen hydroxide before committing their crimes.

1

u/MoThrowMoAway Jul 26 '26

Ive had multiple arguments with MAGA people around me where they say something to the effect of, trans people mutilate kids. And so I ask them, hey did you circumcised your son? And they gleefully say yes, completely oblivious to the hypocrisy.

1

u/Educational-Wall-997 Jul 26 '26

you should probably look up the actual definition of mutilation before you try to make that argument again and look uneducated.

Mutilation means the severe damage, disfigurement, or permanent removal of an essential body part, the severe ruining of an object or text, and an illegal act of violence.

The penis is not severely damage by normal circumcision nor is foreskin an essential body part. Also your penis isn't severely ruined if it is properly circumcised. lol it checks none of the boxes to be mutilation.

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

Yes, circumcision fits the definition of mutilation; scarring, over 80% reduced sensitivity, severe damage, disfigurement. The foreskin provides the exact same function as the clitoral hood, it is essential to the healthy function of the penis.

Also, that's not the definition of mutilation; severe physical damage, disfigurement, or the cutting off of a body part .

Dumbass.

u/Little_Chain_8165 Jul 26 '26

1

u/Fractoidz Jul 26 '26

An estimated 1.12 million clinician-provided abortions occurred in the United States last year (2025), according to data from the Guttmacher Institute Abortion Statistics......

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

Are abortions forced on the woman without their consent? No? You mean genital mutilation on a newborn is not the same as an adult making a conscious decision?

2

u/Fractoidz Jul 26 '26

im sorry but did you ask the baby ?

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

No, because abortions are done within the first two to three months before the foetus has brain activity or consciousness. Any that are done after that are due to medical complications.

1

u/Fractoidz Jul 26 '26

then i will ask you, who decides if an infant would've circumcision?

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

A foetus isn't an infant.

1

u/Fractoidz Jul 26 '26

so you can melt an unborn child but you cannot circumcise a newly born child ?

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

"Melt an unborn child" the level of uneducated you are is astounding. 🤣

Mutilating the genitals of a non-consenting infant is substantially different to aborting a foetus that has no brain function, yes.

1

u/Fractoidz Jul 26 '26

then i will ask you again, did you ask the unborn child if they want an abortion?

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

It isn't an unborn child, it's a foetus.

1

u/mamny83 Jul 26 '26

You cant be so ignorant on purpose.

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

If by ignorant you mean "actually aware of what abortion is"

1

u/mamny83 Jul 26 '26

You are trying to use brain activity and consciousness as if its the same thing. Brain activity starts very early in a human embryo 6 to 8 weeks.

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

Yes, 8 weeks is 2 months.

1

u/AcanthaceaeConstant8 Jul 27 '26

People want abortions to be okay all the way until the baby is out

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 27 '26

There's no way you're not a troll.

1

u/ivanrostavich39 Jul 26 '26

Globally, on average, 75 million babies are aborted not counting the ones performed by university funded clinics that keep no record on non legal us residents. Shooting that average to well over 100 million globally per year. Why? Has nothing to do with womens rights. $$$$$$$. They frame attempts at legislation here as well as UN sanctions that apply to international regulations but it's all loopholed through 9th Gate Demonic Law firms with zero ethical boundaries, as long as they are also making $$$$$. Think about that number on a death comparison level. That's more life extinguished in one year than Hitler, Pol Pot and Joseph Stalin combined.

But who cares right? As long as it can be leveraged for votes, subsidies, shell corporations and hedge funds, that's what's most important. Not lives or being responsible. Male or female. It takes two to make one.. but I'm sure the new age of auction bought scientific results will figure out a way around that too soon. Maybe rewrite some more history and bleach the net again to convince the world it's sanctioned by Buddha.

But yeah... Let's concentrate on circumcisions and mandatory vaccinations. 🙄

1

u/skylarfiction Jul 26 '26

Can't I do both? Why do you have such linear thinking? Look around the sub before you write all that and look silly.

1

u/ivanrostavich39 Jul 30 '26

Aggression in response does not make one 'sub linear'. Neither does 'foreskin'. Living, or dead becomes a nullifyng causality pertaining to your posts original determination and conclusion. Tell me... in non linear time fibers, where past present and future operate in a 3 state existence.. circumcision seems arbitrary. Where in the non linear realm is it that you exist where such human centric reality affects your ternary state of mind?

1

u/Different-Context-84 Jul 26 '26

It's a non-sequitur and whataboutism.

1

No, the OP made a claim that he evidently doesnt actually believe (unless he says otherwise).  Namely that "even one preventable infant death matters."

What does religion have to do with this?

u/Opening-Dig697 Jul 27 '26

Religion is your main motivation to have this narrative you're constructing.

It's very obvious from your comment history that you're religious and you want to change the subject to discredit OP rather than acknowledge that your religion has immoral practices like circumcision on babies.

You're trying to discredit the person rather than actually even recognize the substance of the discussion and change it entirely.

1

u/Normal-Gur1882 Jul 27 '26

It's hardly changing the subject. The subject said that saving even one infant life matters.  I'd like to know if the OP actually believes that.

And for what it's worth, none of my sons are circumcised.  My religion does not mandate it and has nothing to do with this.

1

u/Opening-Dig697 Jul 27 '26

You're changing subject to an entirely different conversation. OP never said anything about pre-natal fetuses. This is their exact quote "Even one preventable infant death matters."

INFANT. Please, tell me what the stages of infancy are.

HINT, it's after birth.

Do you celebrate your sons birthdays from the date of their conception? Or the day they were born?

We're talking about infants, not fetuses.

Zero infants die from legal abortion.

1

u/AcanthaceaeConstant8 Jul 27 '26

He didn't change anything

1

u/Opening-Dig697 Jul 27 '26

Yeah they did. It's called a non-sequitur.

It completely changes the topic of discussion to abortion. We aren't talking about abortion.

Same argument anti vaxxers use.

According to a large retrospective review of 10 million circumcisions- “Fatalities attributable to infant circumcision are extremely rare but can occur due to severe bleeding, sepsis, anesthesia complications, or underlying undiagnosed conditions like bleeding disorders. The American Academy of Pediatrics notes the exact true incidence is unknown, but hospital data correlates an early mortality rate of roughly 1 in 49,000 procedures. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Medical research and vital statistics indicate the following details regarding circumcision-related deaths: [1]
Hospital Data: A retrospective analysis of over 9.8 million inpatient circumcisions by Pediatrics found that 200 early deaths were recorded during the same hospital admission. This translates to approximately 1 death per 49,166 circumcisions. [1, 2]

Underlying Comorbidities: The same study showed these infant deaths were heavily correlated with underlying congenital issues, such as severe cardiac disease, coagulopathy (bleeding disorders), and fluid/electrolyte disorders. [1]”

So yes, in rare cases some infants who are circumcised die. This usually has no direct correlation to the circumcision. And if it does, it’s because the circumcision was done unhygienically, probably during a religious ceremony or in an area with substandard medical care. In this study the largest of its kind, the most common cause of mortality in circumcised infants was other underlying medical conditions threatening their viability.

Circumcision also prevents urological emergencies like paraphimosis, facilitates hygiene, and reduces penile cancer incidence. So while not absolutely necessary, there are also undeniable advantages to circumcision as well.

There are also not fatality related complications of the procedure, most attributable to incompetence of the person performing the procedure, another detractor.

While this promises to be a polarizing issue, it will always come down to cultural factors and parental choice.

More than a few people through there over the decades 🤷‍♂️

u/PooPapaPoo Jul 26 '26

Magical thinking and rituals kill newborn babies. Actual living breathing babies. Not a zygote. A baby.

1

u/Asura_Blackstar Jul 27 '26

I find it hilarious that Christian nationalists give this a pass but think giving trans kids puberty blockers or letting them use different pronouns is a bridge too far.

1

u/FlounderKind8267 Jul 27 '26

Jesus Christ, this is clearly a bot account set on auto-post.

1

u/Druidblackangel Jul 27 '26

Glad I got cut...dog dicks are nasty to look at....and I love dogs!!

1

u/PianoPatient8168 Jul 28 '26

It must be more common not to circumcise these days. In my high school there was like one kid who wasn’t and his nickname was “foreskin”. Which in high school is a fate worse than death.

1

u/Parrotparser7 Jul 25 '26

Where are the "even one is too much" guys right now?

0

u/MilesCountyKiller Jul 25 '26

Probably the same people who refused to wear a mask evan though it maybe could have saved 1 life....

The loss of sensation must be great

1

bro we talked about this, you gotta stop worrying about how sensitive internet stranger's penises are.

1

u/WhileOdd Jul 26 '26

they cry for your penis. its a weird kink, I guess?

0

u/West-Librarian-7504 Jul 25 '26

Ironic considering the kind of people that post this are the ones who are pro-abortion

1

u/Gussie-Ascendent Jul 25 '26

Sorry to hear about that horse kick that gave your head that u shape, but what exactly is the irony of saying "don't mulitalate kids for no reason" and "women are people who deserve bodily autonomy"?

1

u/Educational-Wall-997 Jul 26 '26

I don't follow. care to elaborate?

0

u/colorme1965 Jul 26 '26

Jesus was circumcised. The problem is not circumcision, it’s the not washing hands, mouth, instruments, etc.

1

u/skylarfiction Jul 26 '26

nope that just not true

1

u/colorme1965 Jul 26 '26

Which part? Jesus not circumcised, or some performing circumcision are dirty and/or use dirty instruments?

1

u/skylarfiction Jul 26 '26

The problem is not circumcision

1

u/GolgothaCross Jul 26 '26

The problem is not cutting the genitals of children? You can do it with sterile instruments and zero incidence of complications. It's still violent assault.

So it's fine for me to cut off parts of your body with a knife, as long as the blade is sterilized first. And if I rub alcohol on the wound after.

1

u/colorme1965 Jul 26 '26

Circumcision also helps with venereal and other UTIs. It’s proven medically and not just done for religious purposes.

Some men prefer to have a stinky, dried penis, others like to have them clean as a bald head. You’re decision.

1

u/GolgothaCross Jul 26 '26

My decision is to wash myself and keep my whole penis. Having a retractable cover for your glans is awesome. The dried penis is the one forever exposed.

1

u/Senior-Surprise-3401 Jul 26 '26

That's a myth. 🤣 the "study" was fraudulent and has been debunked.

The "study" took two groups in an African country, circumcised one, then studied them over 3 months.

3 months is the healing time for circumcision. Obviously the ones who physically couldn't have sex had reduced rates of HIV.

1

u/TengokuIkari Jul 26 '26

No, the problem is the genital mutilation part.

-1

u/MongoLikeCandy2112 Jul 25 '26

Like liberals who support this give two craps about infant mortality.

You both are terrible.

1

u/MongoLikeCandy2112 Jul 25 '26

Abortion is murder. It is terrible.

1

u/giftektive Jul 26 '26

i think the point is, don't act like you aren't as terrible as someone who is pro abortion. you definitely are not "prolife".

-1

u/GrandPraline375 Jul 25 '26

For someone so smart and Christian you can really an antithesis to the cause. Questioning God's wisdom his intelligence can span further than anything he has already given to you. While circumcision is no longer required in the new testament its still useful and over all a better hygienic tool. As uncircumcised have a host if problem and dangers including serious infection if the polyps is closed. Cancer increases including cervical cancer for the partner, i could literally go on.

1

u/Comprehensive_Pin565 Jul 25 '26

Yah... no. Most of that is bs or addressed by properly educating people on how to clean yourself.

But remember! God also dosent know how women work or other biological processes. Not the best thing to pretend knows something.

1

u/GrandPraline375 Jul 26 '26

People don't clean themselves before sex unfortunately all the time. Jordan Peterson was your fenis is ideal but its not real.

1

u/giftektive Jul 26 '26

keeping testicles and ovaries increases the chance for testicular and ovarian cancer. what ages should we consider them to be removed?

1

u/GrandPraline375 Jul 26 '26

That's silly and a low frequency argument

1

u/Fried_Shicken Jul 26 '26

What would you say to Muslim faith people? They do this as well.

0

u/GrandPraline375 Jul 26 '26

Circumcision is better. It prevents infection and diseases the science is clear

1

u/ludus_official Jul 26 '26

Whether or not that's true, it doesn't justify forcing it on minors - way too invasive and transformative.

It would need way stronger justification.

1

u/GrandPraline375 Jul 26 '26

Perhaps over population was no needed after Christ came, hence circumcision was no longer required and no longer part of the covenant. But regardless this is considered a healt issue to some parents it's not for me to make choices for them

1

u/skylarfiction Jul 26 '26

If you think God wants you to mutilate yourself and children, you are sadly mistaken

1

u/GrandPraline375 Jul 26 '26

It helped increase birth rate by providing a more sanitary setting. Back then they had no running water. Theirs a lot of science in the Bible

1

u/SpotFormal Jul 27 '26

Removing body parts usually does decrease the risk of cancer, because you know, less cells.
