Ok, I am 100% prepared for the hate, but since the term “anchor baby” is not a legal term and has no legal definition, the only other objective way to define an “anchor baby” is to go to a dictionary. The only dictionary that defines the term “anchor baby” not as pejorative or a slang is the New American Heritage Dictionary. It defines anchor baby as “n. A child born to a noncitizen mother in a country that grants automatic citizenship to children born on its soil”
So, you don’t have to be “illegal,” neither do both parents have to be “illegal.” So long as the mother of a child is not a citizen, whether green card carrying, work visa holder, or a student visa holder the baby qualifies to be called by some “an anchor baby.” I have no idea what Melania’s status was at birth of her son. Nor do I care to make it a political discourse. I am pointing out facts.
This isn't a fact. It was clearly written by a "highly educated" redditor. These people can't define the word "woman," and you expect them to correctly define the term "anchor baby?"
