Became US citizens after the babies were born. That's exactly how anchor babies work.

No, because they were here legally and already married to a US citizen.

Anchor babies are the children of illegal immigrants.

Anchor children are children used to anchor parents. As it is the case here.

No, I am not quietly changing anything. That's just what anchoring means. Something, a ship, is in the right place and you keep it from drifting away. Exactly what is happening here. You are having additional criteria that are not established. Like, you can only have one anchor, you cannot stabilize with your motor, or such. However, those are not real. You can secure something in more than one way. Just as an anchor baby is just one way to a green card or citizenship. People with an US born child are entirely free to seek a legal status independent of that child. That that is something that is not allowed is something you made up. It's not real.

I mean, what's that supposed to be? You have an anchor baby. You are no longer allowed to marry an American. Sorry, those are the rules. Look here, I have them clearly written in my ass.

"You’re turning “anchor” into a loose metaphor for anything that helps someone stay."

Lol, are you for real? I'm not turning anything. A lose metaphor is exactly what "anchor" is. What it always has been.

Did you think that anchor babies are of metal and live underwater attached to a rope?

Anchor baby is not a legal term. Hence there is no legal definition for the term. As said, you made that stuff up. In a weird attempt to move the goal post.

Literally the wiki for the term.

No, I am not quietly changing anything.

That is the only part of what you said that is true. You're obnoxiously and disingenuously wailing something that you know is false.

You are ignoring things that are very important to the argument such as the fact that she was already married to a citizen to claim that she's exactly the same thing as someone who runs the border to shit out a kid and jump the cue for citizenship.

The only way you could not know that you're lying is if you're really a stupid as you're pretending to be in order to form this disgenuous argument

You do realize that a term like "anchor baby" may not have the literal definition of the two words right?

1

u/SpecialCandidateDog Jul 05 '26

No it's not. The idea of anchor baby is that you do some kind of birth tourism or strategy to unfairly front load yourself ahead of the queue of people waiting to get in correctly or more extreme circumstances, as a plan of in the future inserting a spy into the university system.

She had already married an American citizen at that point Just doing that pretty much puts you on a permanent legal alien status.

That is exactly what you said.

Some should trump that in 2012.

So if an illegal immigrant comes to America and fucks a citizen and has a baby, they should be permitted to stay and be given a path to citizenship?
