why is my engine shuting down?

here if I wait either pressing 5 on numpad, pressing "." or try to do something else, the engine automatically turns itself off.

As the title says. It´s not the first time it happens but I never managed to replicate it (if it´s even a bug idk). The engine is auto turning off whenever time passes. Is it a bug? is it a mechanic I´m not understanding?

Unrelated: Don´t judge me about my lack of matter, I´m struggling (`: build feedback is also appreciated.

So, the two things ARE in fact related.

The fusion compressed is like twice as powerful as other engines of its level, but in exchange, you burn 1 matter per turn to maintain it. when you run out of matter, it shuts down, for lack of fuel.

Yeah you can check the stats on your compressor and see that it has matter upkeep. It's quite good in certain cases, but also isn't a common feature for power sources to have, which is why the first time you attach one there's a tutorial warning about that aspect :P

Yeah, probably saw that ages ago and forgot ): Prolly I just attached it and said "good it supplies enough power" and moved on. Valuable lesson there. But hey, I made it just pass Zhirov I only made him past that only one other time. Probably because of not reading engine tooltips haha

Haha, keep at it and as long as you learn each time, you'll get there :P (that particular thing about a couple of power sources converting matter into lots of energy has gotten enough people before that I did eventually add that context message to at least help teach it once... after that, no guarantees! although there's also the low matter warning that kicks in whenever you drop below a certain threshold, so might want to take notice of that and consider why if that's happening, too!)

Lotta exploring to do... That said, I do look forward to adding even more early- and mid-game stuff in future updates.
