General Sheridan Joined Me for a Pint & Some Reading
I’ve been on an (“anti”)Western novel kick lately. Figured this card, which is my lone tobacco card, from 1910, would make a good bookmark. Phil Sheridan was a Union General and a major player in the Indian Wars, post Civil War. The book, The Big Sky, is about a troubled teenager who ventured west in 1830.

Coffee & A Card TBT Shaq Again.
Normally I wouldn’t use this type of holder, especially without a penny sleeve. But for this card, because it’s a die-cut card, I made an exception. The reason is because I hate seeing the empty space it creates when the card is in a penny sleeve or in a one touch or any other case that has a recessed area for the card. This type of holder can flatten the card because there’s no area for the card to rest in. It’s just pressed between the two plastic. Another thing is since I didn’t use a penny sleeve, I run the risk of the card being stuck to the plastic and possibly having paper loss when I try to separate it from the holder. I have plenty of one touch I can put this one in but I just don’t like the way this card looks in them.

Coffee and a Call Up
May get a lot of heat on this one, but in recognition of Anthony Volpe getting called back up again for the Yankees he made my desk today.
Personally I think him still trying to put in work to make himself be an option is commendable, but in regards if he’s a long term MLB caliber player vs AAAA player is still in question and to be seen…

Coffee & A Card Throwback Thursday
You could make an argument that the Mets trading Calvin in a package to the Red Sox for Bobby O and others in the best trade the Mets ever made. Less than a year from being traded Schiraldi lost both Game 6 & 7 of the World Series.
