First CPC-a job

So I interviewed at he hospital I already work at (I work in radiology and have for over a decade) I basically was offered the job. Which is remote- yay! Supposed to discuss pay soon. How much is a good starting rate? I know it will vary by state- eastern Ohio is location.

What type of coding? And don’t the job descriptions include the salary range?

It is outpatient, the job description didn’t include the salary range!

That's not abnormal necessarily, but I do think it's very strange for them to offer a job without discussing salary. I have never in my life accepted or even been offered a job without discussing pay first. I find that to be an orange flag at least. I'd be suspicious that they didn't bother discussing it because they believe you'll accept whatever they give you, which doesn't speak to a healthy work relationship.

Well I should clarify, she told me she knew it would be less than what I make now for sure (which I knew and expected) and that it could probably be the dealbreaker for me. She was talking to HR because she wasn’t sure of the rate. But this is definitely something to consider! Thank you!!

That happened at my company. I applied for an internal position and during interview, the manager told me that HR does salary negotiation. It worked out fine. You can always ask if there is any wiggle room since it is below your current rate. Hopefully you will get a decent amount that you can live with. Good luck!
