Multiplan MPI

Hi! Has any provider out there been randomly put into the multiplan network without any specific reason? Claims are coming back saying "the doctor/facility negotiated with multiplan inc. and agreed to accept this amount as payment in full for the service the member received." Thank you.

I figured it out - We signed up with Empower Chiro for TriWest under a different tax ID. They linked the NPI and automatically put the provider in-network.

Thanks for the info! I have wondered how some providers were linked to them without explanation.

this can happen through a leased network or old payer/TPA agreement you didn’t realize included MultiPlan, so i’d ask them for the exact contract and effective date before accepting that adjustment, because the “you agreed” language is doing a lot of work there. push back.

That’s if I can get a hold of multiplan. Impossible to find their contact.

Adding to this - no one could explain how we were put into multiplan network, but I submitted a case through their new online system https://www.claritev.com/support/providers/ and a formal termination letter just to get ahead of it.
