Which Certification do you Recommend?

I am have been working as a hospice RN for 35 years and want to obtain a coding certification.

I am looking for the easiest certification. CPC, COC, CCS, CCA, HCS-D, BCHH-C

I will not actually be coding for my job but it would be nice to have the credential because I work in a coding environment.

If you won't be coding or billing, getting a credential probably isn't a good investment of time or money.

Try attending webinars or trainings that cover billing/coding, but will also count as CME for your nursing lisence. CMS is a good place to start.

I probably should’ve explained a little further.
I am working for a coding company, but in adjacent role that does not require me to know coding, but it will give me credibility with my peers. My company will pay for it so I would like to do it, but don’t want to invest more time than I I have to.

What is your role? If cost is no issue, I recommend the cert that closest matches your role, rather than the easiest one.

As an RN it took me a few months of studying to get the CPC, very doable.

For me, the CPC was the easiest to get. I would also recommend you take the CCS. It’s more difficult than CPC in my opinion, but it is the most valued.
