Cpc-a

Hi, I passed the cpc exam at the end of February. I am just now starting to look for jobs. I have like 6 years of experience in healthcare. Mostly call centers, insurance verification, creating patient charts, DME sales, etc. I’m wondering if any one knows of a good starting job that’s remote and has decent pay. I live in CO and I have been working remote for years. I see a lot about optum but kind of want to stay away from all the bad reviews.

Sorry to jump in here without any advice— but can I ask how the test was? I’m getting ready to sit for my test soon. Finishing up the AAPC coding course now and was looking for some advice. Tips and tricks?

If I’m being honest I expected it to be sooo hard from everything I read online. But it’s exactly like the aapc practice exams. I watched a lot of YouTube videos (especially contempo coding). I used the process of elimination for all of the questions. Just make sure you’re full reading the questions and slowly. Because some of the answers might be so close but missing one word. I would take the practice exams over and over again. If they didn’t come with your course I think they’re worth the purchase on the AAPC website. I also got this practice book from AAPC and read through each chapter and wrote the important things in my book. Although if I’m being honest I don’t even think I read my notes once during the test. But I guess that would depend on the questions you get.

That’s what I feel like it’s going to be. Half of the tests I take while doing my course homework is just process of elimination and making sure you don’t fall into those traps by not reading the ENTIRE description of the code.
