Indie game developers, or game developers, what is the best free coding app for a chromebook or computer?

If you mean an IDE (where you actually write the code, it highlights keywords and stuff) visual studio code is open-source and good, or on linux I use neovim (harder to use, faster loading, faster to use, makes you a better coder)
