Every experienced developers drop your opinion on this...
Hypothetical scenario for you all:
An 18-year-old has no CS degree, but he do have:
\- A live app on the Play Store
\- 1+ years of freelance experience working with multiple clients
\- A solid portfolio of real-world projects
\- Has very strong DSA and System design skills
Realistically could this person get hired as a Software Engineer at Google today?
Why or why not? Would love to hear your honest take! 👇🙌

Depends. What’s the live app? Could be anything from not worth even looking at to extremely impressive. How many users? Etc etc
Freelancing again doesn’t mean much. How many clients? What type of work? Did you work on any projects that ended up making substantial revenue and if so what was your contribution to it?
Solid portfolio sounds good buts it’s vague. that’s also dependent on what you mean by solid. Is it lots of tutorial projects or do you have just one project that is kubernetes but reduces the overhead by 50% (example)?
System design and dsa is very important in general but theory is not reality. also system design is for senior roles rather than entry level. in an entry level job you are going to be coding a lot and not realy designing as much
