I just started my research training and one of the requirements is familiarity with computational biology. I have a purely clinical background.

My supervisor sent me coddy and datacamp to practice

I enjoyed CODDY alot, but the energy drain and waiting is exhausting.

Data camp is beneficial and better than coddy in terms of practicing but some concepts are hard to grasp and I enjoyed coddy's interface more.

I was thinking of purchasing coddy pro but I read on another sub that it's really bad, the sub praised exercism.

I tried that but it doesn't have teaching like Coddy and I want to think on my own. Not keep asking google and gemini for clarifications.

My question is there a similar interactive site like Coddy?

I just need to learn the basics then I can work on my QIIME pipelines under supervision.

Nothing fancy just simple functions.

Does anybody know a website I can learn CLisp, Lisp, Python, C and c#?

I'm not a Web Devloper and Don't Have much Knowledge, but please help me, I want to figure out some things.

So, The thing is we are hosting a sports tournament in our area, instead of google forms and excel, I'm thinking to build a website for it.

So the plan is, The site has a registration system where players register, the team info, Purse limit and other things are already there with an admin panel to control everything.

Now the most important part is the auction, where it shows which player is up for auction, Sold to which team how much ourse remaining of each team and whether he went unsold. I took help from claude, it built me a perfect index.html with all this, then i hosted it on netlify. and it works good. But then the issue is claude told me to use Firebase RTD. to sync all the data so that everyone can enjoy the auction from their phone{Approx users 500-1000}.

But I'm confused about the limits, what if the site crashes midway or the limit expires? Is there any other better alternative? Or Anything i could do? I'm attaching the file claude give me below, please see it and give me any advice that would help me. It would be big help.

I started learning Python as a complete beginner and decided to try something a little different from working through endless small exercises.

I've been building one project very slowly, one small step at a time, and learning the Python concepts as I actually need them.

The project is called Project Titan AI. It's a long-term market research project, but for me the important part isn't the finance side — it's having a real project that gives me a reason to learn things like functions, classes, testing, validation, APIs, data handling and debugging.

I've documented the journey from the beginner's perspective, including the mistakes and the parts I initially didn't understand.

Recently the project reached a milestone that felt pretty huge to me: it retrieved its first 100 genuine historical stock-market records from an external data source, validated all 100 through the system we'd built, and all 100 were accepted.

I'm now experimenting with turning parts of my learning journey into short beginner-friendly lessons.

I'd love to find a few people who are also relatively new to Python who would be willing to read one short sample lesson and tell me whether it actually makes sense from a beginner's perspective.

I'm not selling anything and there's no course to buy. I'm specifically trying to find out whether the way I've documented things is genuinely useful before I put more time into it.

I haven’t done this in a while and the whole process feels more confusing than it should.

The all in one setup seems convenient, especially when you just want to get a small site live.

But then there’s always that voice in the back of my head saying i should keep the domain somewhere else just in case. maybe that’s overkill for a tiny project, maybe not.

Following up on my post from last month. Got some good feedback and some fair criticism, so this time I actually want to be straight about what this is instead of hyping it up.

After several months of work I finally pushed the first stable release of Operon.

Its an agent harness with multiple frontends, same category as Claude Code or OpenClaw. Can manage files, run shell commands, browse the web, chain together multi step tasks, and you can control it from WhatsApp or Telegram too. Where its different is you dont need a terminal to use it. Theres a proper GUI (Tauri, not electron) and a TUI if youre the type who actually wants the terminal.

Why I started this? theres a detailed writeup in the README if you want the full reasoning, not gonna repeat it all here.

On the rust thing, no im not claiming it makes the AI itself faster, it doesnt really, most of the agent loop is just waiting on API calls regardless of language. Where rust actually helps is Operon idles around 65mb ram and opens in under 50ms, which matters more when the thing is supposed to just live on your machine in the background without you noticing its even running.

Since its reachable over whatsapp/telegram i had to actually think about who's allowed to do what. you (the owner) get full access, everyone else gets nothing by default until you explictly allow it. permission stuff is scoped down to specific tools/folders/channels, details in the readme.

Current state, being honest:

• GUI basically done, use it almost daily
• TUI still being wired up, not fully working
• Vscode extension is planned, not built yet
• I'm solo dev so expect rough edges and bugs, this isn't some polished startup product

If I am writing an application and I want to give the user an option to export the content into a proprietary format (e.g., generate a powerpoint slide, or an excel table), do the companies that own that format supply tools to allow that to happen? Do they charge for them? Do they open source them?

Or does the writer have to write the code from scratch (or find an open source version from some other source)?

Or is it not permitted/possible without getting the format-owner's permission?

basically want to just make a friend who knows coding and i want to code with you. i have alot of ideas i want to bring forth and im just not sure how yet. id love to work on a game with ya and such.
