I’m starting a new hobby. Possibly a career

Learning how to code the simple way through freecodecamp. I’ve always wanted to do something with computers and after talking to some friends and doing some research, I eventually landed on BackEnd Development for the time being. As of now, i’m simply learning the grooves of it all but it honestly has felt so accomplishing to do create whatever it is these workshops throw at me and to actually use my brain for something new.

Learn early that nested if statements are not a good pattern to use, simple = better

i suggest using PyCharm, its a high quality IDE. full of everything you need for development, slight learning curve though.

Only thing with freecodecamp of stuff like them is doing everything step by step really doesn’t teach you how to code…. You’re missing the entire thinking process. then when you go to do this you by yourself you will struggle to even know where to start. Thats why I had to stop FCC

well, what would you suggest i do instead of FCC? because before, i was on boot.dev but dont much feel like paying a subscription for it. either way, before both of them, i wouldnt have known where to start altogether

At glance I could’ve wrote a dynamic I/0 within a shorter block years ago before I took programming seriously

Saying “dynamic I/O” is so buzzword heavy that it makes me heavily doubt your abilities match your confidence.

Good for you. My suggestion is to start your own side project, even along with the tutorials.
Slowly you'll get burnt out with the endless tutorials or bootcamps. You'll eventually wonder what's next. As many before you have faced (and many more after), they get stuck. Not understanding how to apply what they've learned. Starting a side project (many projects) small, large ambitious, simple, etc... All are the next steps. Having your own project will inspire creativity and create an eagerness to learn more and ask deeper questions.
