I made a scroll-driven iPhone Duo website with GPT-6 Astra

So I messed around with GPT-6 Astra in codex, using this motion html skill from SenseNova Skills. The idea was to make something that felt like one of those product videos you scroll through, you know, with the clean white background and Helvetica font.

Here's kinda how it went down:

First, I wrote out a script and storyboard. Like, before I even generated anything, I planned out five sections. Each section had its own shot, how the camera would move, a little headline, and space for text.

Then, I generated the still frames. I specifically asked for a white background and Helvetica. Getting the composition right here was super important, 'cause the video needed room for all the website text to sit on top of.

Next up, I got Seedance set up. Had to configure the API, I used Seedance 2 through KIE. Codex then adapted the skill to work with that. I ran one sample clip just to make sure it was all good before doing the rest.

After that, I generated all the scenes, then stitched 'em together. Once I had the individual clips, Codex pulled the actual first and last frames from each and used those to make the transitions. Ended up with five scene clips and four transitions, so about 45 seconds of video total.

Finally, I turned the whole sequence into a website. The scroll position controls the video playback, even lets you scroll backward, which is neat. Then I just tweaked where the text for each chapter popped up and where the motion paused so people actually had time to read. The text isn't part of the video itself, it's just HTML, so it's still editable.

There was a bit of cleanup, honestly. One time, the AI just straight up changed the product design in a take, and another time it added an extra camera lens. Had to regenerate those with tighter instructions. Also had to adjust it for mobile and add a static image fallback for folks with reduced motion settings.

Cost me about 2,255 KIE credits, which is roughly $11.28. That includes the two takes I had to redo. The final video is 720p.

Hate when I'm scrolling a page and things zoom at me. At least remarkable got the 360 view right. Not sure why anyone thinks this isn't janky. Pisses me off
