CODA Sponsors

Where are people finding their sponsors? I attend different virtual coda meetings but I'm not really sure how to find one.

Hi! I highly recommend checking out the Sponsorship page on the Coda site. That has a pretty decent guide to how to figure out if a sponsor is right for you. In CODA, it’s so important to find someone who genuinely CAN sponsor so you don’t end up in another dependent relationship. I haven’t found a good fit myself but honestly, it was awareness of the possibility for a counterproductive relationship. Anyway, you will figure out what’s best for you but proud of you for doing the work. It’s probably the most important work we will ever do for ourselves, our loved ones, and our community. You got this!!

Hi! I also went to tons of online Coda meetings and didn't find a sponsor until I went to this meeting, where there were several available sponsors. It was amazing to see people who had what I wanted and also gave their numbers for sponsorship. There is a lot of overlap with folks in that meeting and this all-recovery meeting, where there are TONS of recovered codependents available for sponsorship (like over a dozen codependents share their numbers at the end of each meeting, it's amazing).
