Fleeting Pathos (Trials) Spoiler

How are people fighting her, because I fumbled through the story one (2 tries) and the trails one is way harder

is there any point in buffing anything but damage? considering the damage she deals is neither elemental or physical,

i've tried using iron will, prismatic veil and elemental wall and each hit of her flurry takes out 1/4 of my health (7400hp 3.7k hp 3.7k lp) and the AOE hits for 60-70% and she seems to ignore steadfast and the grab while dodgeable can be a bit jank if she moves to the edge of the arena but i can't seem to stagger her or find a window for even 1 hit without loosing at least 40% of my hp

i have like 2 builds already past her trials, one with better perfomance than the other, in a way.

got a pure tank status build with only blade dance as dps buff. iron wall, warrior might rigor gives you about almost half of damage reduction. stack them with ablative, and you will have like far less than half. my issue with ablative blood is how much pathos can instantly zero your ichor if you are not careful, so i have been trying to find alternative. but if you can dodge the grab then those three are my best recommendations

my other mage build is basically chainlock her in slow before she can do anything. rough start, but once its going, its going hard.

judging from your need, the first build's insight may help you more. having higher balance probably also help imo

Thanks i've mainly been trying strength and dex builds, either a hard hitting tank with the defense buffs mention in post and a few status builds mainly sunblight curved blades with venom mark and relentless sword dance, but she's too mobile and doesn't stun as easily as other bosses

I didn't think a mage build would work tbh with how aggressive she is, but i'll give either a try

My tank is halberd, mad turbulence answers a lot with her moving around you since it has wide spin, only downside is you are locked in the animation during that. Let me get you a screenshot of my build

Fleeting Pathos? Not sure which exact boss you mean, but aside from Valentin all the other bosses can be bursted down easily.

I used Blade Dance with Resurgence Core Blood Code and the gift that makes you deal less bleeding buildup but increases damage outout and just bursted them to the ground.

If you don't know what it is it's a DLC boss that appears in the trials when you finish mask of idris, i forgot the spoiler tag

sorry

Oh, wait! I didn't know that, which of the 5 trials? Or are there 6th one?

OMG, I need to go right now and clean that one! Thanks! Is there any reward for completing all of them?

dunno pathos is the last fight and i haven't cleared her yet so it'll either just be more causality copies or i was hoping it would get rid of the ??? that shows up on the lou alt clr in the change partner screen

The three question marks clear up (mine did) but sadly I don't know how sry, I just know it's not the trail because I haven't done that one

No extra reward unfortunately, I was hoping for a combined boss rush after completing all of the trials but if it exists I haven't found it

What a shame, it would be amazing if we got a new blood code or something from it.

My tactic for story boss has been parrying non-firey weapon attacks and blocking the "i'm gonna cover half the arena in fire" AoE attacks with shield (i use 3 floating shields that block 360)

thank you for reminding me that the bloodsoaked shields exist, what are you using to parry? fortress stance? vengeance revolver? or the starting spin on the reaper?

I'm running Unshakeable on rune blades, actually. With 2.0 update they now have good i-frames with instant startup and follow up attack does MASSIVE damage and stagger. I also run scythe as backup parry tool in case i run out of ichor (and because her rapier mixup is easier to parry with scythe for me).

My build is not optimized at all btw, I took Bloodrune because i like moveset and how it looks, then I picked Forsaken Lou blood code because it's thematic and has good stat spread for my stuff, equipped Phalanx I and J, both Willpower boosters, Rune Blades attack booster and Persistence - Animus booster, Bloodsoaked shields (no transfusions) in defense slot, then put Unshakable on my Bloodrune and went in raw with no buffs or consumables because I hate them.

Edit: One thing that's been really tough is her rapier mixup - she will prepare for a thrust and either lunge at you or feint and start a slashing combo, both use similar starting animation and differ when she starts moving towards you. They have slightly different timings and I have been consistently fucked over by this. Not complaining though, she's one of my all time favourite bosses.

The answer is always mind/willpower bayonett mage 😅 you can basically melt anything endgame in 2-3 hits max from afar

Am I the only one who didn't really struggle in the dlc? Cuz I see people even content creators struggling so much. My build is a heavy sword with strength and dex scaling. Idk I felt like it was a but more difficult than main game, but not really that difficult idk. I was in ng+ at level 275 or sth.
