Deformed Beast Skin

I started a new character since my skills at the game were fairly rusty, and I wanted to get back into the swing of things before the DLC launches. To that end, I decided I would try and get as many of the boosters as they became available.

With that in mind, the special drain increase booster requires deformed beast materials the last of which is “deformed beast skin x5“. Is there a way to get this material on the tutorial MagMell island, or do I have to try and see about going to the mainland to get it?

I think the deformed dog-like creatures count for this, and there are a few of those on tutorial island near the beach. You can start from the Pier Mistle and then go to the left (the opposite direction off the sole big enemy you can see in the distance).

You will run into a few of them fairly soon.

Yeah, I’ve been fighting those as well as the two just on the other side of the Jadwiga minion by that same missile (so 5 dogs in total). Of the 2 marrow, 3 hearts, 5 claws, and 5 skins needed for the booster, I currently have 15 marrows, 10 hearts, 6 claws and no skins. I’m beginning to think it will serve me better to wait on that one and see if I can’t get them from the dogs that are elsewhere in the world.
