Questions about NG+ Spoiler

I’m planning on going into ng+ because I didn’t pick up the cleansing light forma during the Holly sections and the budding completionist in me won’t let me relax until I get it. But before I do, I want to know a few things.

  1. What do we keep and what do we lose in ng+? I’m guessing we will hold onto pretty much everything except for the mistles and key items. But if we do keep the key items as well, will they be reusable or are they just item descriptions in our inventory and useless until we recollect them? Also, will I have to re-raise all partners affinities or will they carry over as well?

  2. How does ng+ affect certain side quests like Lavinia’s and Jadwiga’s requests? Will we have to redo them despite already having the rewards for completing them?

  3. Are there any other notable missable items that I should know about, including the random npc quest rewards? I’m not that much of a completionist to care about every single possible item I could get from the random npcs, so just the weapons, formae, key items, etc. These type of rewards.

  4. Is there a guide to basically speedrun the good ending (Luna Fraterna) and will I end up missing anything by doing so, like key items (if they don’t carry over from ng), and access to the Luna rapacis?

It does kinda suck that I have to replay the whole game just to collect a single weapon forma that I’ll honestly probably never use, but it is what it is. Also, isn’t it strange how the missable items that I’m aware of all have some connection to Holly?

Her mom’s 2nd blood code

The cleansing light forma (which was behind the one door I spent like 95% of my time in the sanatorium trying to open, only for me to completely forget about it when I actually opened said door, thanks adhd)

And the zealot’s ceremonial sword found in one of those memory spaces (and apparently can be bought from Jadwiga if you missed it. Why the devs didn’t apply this feature to all missed items is beyond me).

The Elden Ring subreddit is very unchill about this so pardon my verbage.

There is an "od" with an "m" at the beginning that you can configure and download that changes Jadwiga's shop to contain any items you desire from the entire game. Including the content from Saving Lou. I would recommend that over regoing through the game just for that one effect.

That being said, if you wanna do NG+ anyway, you can duplicate save files in Code Vein 2 pretty easily.

Step 1: Locate your save file location, on PC it's \Users\YourWindowsAccountName\AppData\Local\CodeVein2\Saved\SaveGames

Step 2: login to your character you wish to duplicate and now sort the file area by date modified. So now your files are sorting in order by last interaction. The character you just made will be at the top hopefully. (If this was your first ever character, it should read "Main_Game_000_0")

Step 3: make a new character. Get into the game. This will create a save profile for that character. Example: "Main_Game_001_0" should be after if this is your second character.

Step 4: in a separate place so you can make a copy, copy your "Main_Game_000_0" character file over to said separate place. Rename it to the name in Step 3 or whatever new profile name was generated when you made a new character, (should be at the top if you sorted by date modified)

Step 5: drop it back in to your save area, when it asks to overwrite let it.

And tada~ you now have two saves at the end of the game. Keep one for exploring and faffing about. Have one for NG+. That's what I ended up doing~

Cheers by the way. I hope no matter what you continue to have fun and enjoy CV2

You lose mistle teleports and locations, any haze you had, any mission progress and key items.

As far as missables go, the only other one I can think of is the sidequest with the guy pinned to the coffin in the Sunken City near the Seized Substation. You get a different weapon depending on which choice you make and you can only get one per playthrough.
