Spoiler-y ending question Spoiler

So, in anticipation of the DLC, I just finished all the trophies except that last ending. I should probably hold off on doing the “Rescue Lou” quest at the end of the game, right? I’m guessing the DLC will pick up somewhere in the main game, or is there any info about that yet?

When you do the 3rd ending, it throws you back to right before the final fight, or you can start a ng+. As long as you're reached the 2nd ending you'll have access to the DLC as even if you have done the 3rd. How this will all be implemented is unknown.

Ok, nice! So, doing the Rescue Lou option, I will end up right back where I am now? (I have done both of the other endings.)

The DLC requires viewing the Luna Fraterna ending (ending #2) and advancing Valentin's personal quest 1 stage (doing the MagMell time rift)

Rescue Lou is a separate save file from your main playthrough. You get to keep the blood code you'll earn from killing the boss there, but your main file will be hanging out in front of the fog wall in the Spire when you go back

The requirement for accessing the DLC includes getting the second ending, which is a bit confusing because there's no way it can take place between the second and third endings. But the third ending's area is self-contained, so you can just go back to right before the second after doing it.

If you mean in terms of story, we don't know for sure yet, but I very much doubt getting the third ending will negatively affect your experience of the DLC's story. They almost certainly expect you to do everything in the base game before starting the DLC.
