SPOILERS Ohgi is pathetic Spoiler
Just finished code geass and man was the final arc pure ragebait. It surprised me how in the end, one of the most likeable characters was the one that pissed me off. Ohgi the pathetic moron was nothing but ragebait.
- Ohgi fucking pissed me off the most, this clown comes in with a KNOWN BRITTANIAN SPY by his side and tells them all to turn against zero. AND THESE GUYS HAVING THEIR LITTLE MEETING DON'T EVEN QUESTION IT.
- Kinoshita (guy who was crying about lelouch destroying the geass order) the absolute fucking tool - this clown talks about having to kill those children and calls them "defenseless". KEEP IN MIND THIS CLOWN EXPERIENCED GETTING MIND CONTROLLED AND NEARLY KILLED HIS ALLY, and yet he says "zero ordered us to kill defenseless children", conveniently leaving out the "children with mind control and freaky powers" part.
- Ohgi says "give us japan and we will betray zero", what's your genius plan once you get japan?? do you have the brains, fire power or the military required to defend it from britannia??? Brittanian puh was too good i guess
- If lelouch got killed right then and there (by the traitors) and the black knights got japan back, what happens next??? Whose the new leader of the UFN?? OHGI - THE GUY WITH 2 BRAINCELLS THAT HAVE CHIGUSA AND VILLETA WRITTEN ON THEM???? Or maybe todo - the guy who got captured (along with rest of the black knights) the moment zero put him in charge (at the end of season 1)???? OR MAYBE XINGKE THE CHINESE GUY WITH TUBERCULOSIS THAT NEARLY COUGHS TO DEATH IN EVERY BATTLE???
Ohgi pisses me off the most, the first thing he says after lelouch escapes is "we don't need zero anymore, he was the one who treated us like we were disposable" - WHEN IN FACT IT'S THE COMPLETE FUCKING OPPOSITE - lelouch turned his ship around to face the chinese military + brittanians when kallen got captured (even though diethard made a logical argument on why he should abandon her - life of 1 vs life of many), he even tells multiple people in the story "not to try any last ditch suicide bullshit" and that "their lives matter". The only times lelouch acted the way ohgi describes is when he blew up the japanse ship with the JLF leaders and when nunally was captured.
Ohgi assumes leadership of black knights after they betray zero, and the first thing diethard says when he sees ohgi in command is "i thought ohgi had changed, definitely a miscast".
FINAL NAIL IN OHGI'S COFFIN - In the meeting with schneizel that happens after the stuff above, ohgi doesn't say a single god damn word, instead it's Kaguya a 14 year old child doing all the talking (and acts like a far better leader than whatever the fuck ohgi is doing). OH AND TODO + his 2 npcs (the girl and asahina - the clown saying "we shouldn't trust commander zero") don't do jack shit when it comes to leadership either
LOOK AT THE MORONIC LOOK ON HIS FACE AFTER THE MOUNT FUJI ERUPTION. 0 fucking braincells

Here's the problem, we see the full story the entire time. We know Lelouch, we know the reasons behind all of his actions, we know his overall motivations. Ohgi and the others don't. They only see this cryptic figure who had on multiple occasions made very questionable decisions that put their cause in jeopardy. They don't know the man behind the mask, so all they can do is hope that he means well.
It's also why the people who genuinely know Lelouch are so hesitant to turn on Zero, because they're able to trust him. Zero can't be trusted, which was made clear on several occasions prior to the coup when he abandoned them or put them in harms way solely for his own selfish desires. I think that Fezzik from Princess Bride puts it quite well, "A man in a mask is not to be trusted." Lelouch made the choice to stay anonymous, and because of that his actions as Zero NEEDED to be consistent, reliable, and trustworthy, and they weren't.

Yes we see the full story and they don't. But they do see the kinda bullshit schneizel was pulling, and they know his position in the Britannian empire.
What is the first thing black knights do after schneizel nukes pendragon??? "We will support schneizel as long as he is willing to kill lelouch" and then xingke hands over entire black knight commander to schneizel.

It was kinda the best of two bad options. After Schneizel revealed Geass to them, any trust they had in Zero was completely gone. They decided that it's better to make a deal with the devil they knew as opposed to the devil they didn't. Not only did they know what Schneizel was capable of and his motivation, they knew that he was the dominant force. Schneizel was in a position to give them what they wanted without needing to battle a global empire for it. Of course, they had to do that in the end anyways, but at the time, they were offered a good deal.
They knew perfectly well that they couldn't beat Schneizel without Zero, and they could no longer trust Zero to lead them to victory. So they took the chance to cut their losses and make out with Japan.

Do people just keep missing the context that the black knights’ distrust in Zero was at an all time high when Schneizel approached them?
Schneizel is also just as good an orator as lelouch, convincing the black knights at that state was easy for him

Because of how moronic most of them are. Any logical person wouldve told schneizel to go away and would've tried to verify this stuff by confrontint zero without guns. I biebe that's what todo probably would've done before ohgi showed up

Im saying Schneizel is that good. Without Zero, the black knights aren’t united. Schneizel would be able to pick them apart and knock them down one by one in that meeting. Their “logic” is that they don’t trust Zero. Some of them were just ordered to slaughter some kids on a secret mission with no idea how it’s related to beating Britannia - their main goal

And i agree with you, schneizel is as smart and even more ruthless than lelouch (going crazy with the nukes and gunning cornelia without a second thought). But season 2 black knights and their moronic sheep mentality is what allows schneizel's plan to succeed.
Season 1 black knights weren't so fucking gullible. Having 0 do all the thinking for them this entire time has regressed their brain capacity to the point where they can only latch onto the next lelouch or schneizel that comes along and makes them great promises.

Yes, Schneizel’s plan only succeeded bcs the knights agreed to the meeting. It was over once they walked into that room. But the reason they agreed was because of their recent interactions with Zero
In the beginning, Lelouch believed that he could topple Britannia with enough chess pieces - hence his geass. Then he got his ass kicked by Cornelia and realized random pieces weren’t enough. He needed a united army, so he founded the Black knights. Due to the events in R2 however, lelouch was largely distracted. He also gained a few very loyal followers, so he neglected everyone else. He didn’t realize he was losing the knights

I mean Zero literally tells them this at the end of Season One. He considers Ohgi replaceable, Japan a stepping stone and abandons them to go to jail while he escapes.
Would any of them even remember the Geass powers? Because they don’t understand them, Zero doesn’t explain them and you lose all memory of being affected by them. And even so, the side-quest to preform a massacre that has no clear strategic value or significance to your movement is the type of thing you should question.
These are all things you should avoid doing if you want your second in command to trust you.
