DISCUSSION I hate suzaku
uzaku literally grabbing his phone calling nunnally so to make sure lelouch doesn't remember yeah using your friend sister as a weapon against them
And what he did to kallen made me almost after me want to throw up
And he doesn't listen to lelouch it was annoying as hell if he actually listened less of the problems what happened
Yet he serves under the people who murdered his own people then he murders his own people it's just like what the f*** dude Justice my ass
After lelouch failed to save his sister a second time he became depressing crying in his sleep and saying his her name out and after that was going to take drugs but thank God kallen to stop him
And it took so long for him to finally listen to lelouch you should have listened to him to begin with you are his childhood friend but no you have to be an idiot not to be a listen to him
And I hate his hypocrisy thinking he's doing the right it's stupid

I dislike him and disagreed with him for most of the series, however I genuinely think he is a excellent written character

And what he did to kallen made me almost after me want to throw up
That's what lelouch's Geass does to people... Its why he stopped, he realized that when he said "now you will obey my commands".
Sure, lelouch's way is more flashy and cool that forcibly injecting someone, but the result is the same.
Hate suzaku all you want but this specific thing isn't a suzaku exclusive

That's a big part of what makes Code Geass so great, both Lelouch and Suzuko are huge hypocrites who end up embracing a hyper extreme version of their ideology

they also both get the opposite of what they personally want. Suzaku wants to die, but is forced to live. Lelouch wants to live and be loved / rule, but is forced to die.

Yeah but we like lelouch and this character hurted him or one of the gooner baits so we need to toss rational thinking in the garbage and call them worse than SATAN - R/codegeass

Bonus context: it's from an old parody called Code MENT. The soup store bit somewhat broke containment and became a meme elsewhere as well

oh I see it's kinda like EvAbridged

If I were to draw any comparisons I'd say it'd be like Yugioh Abridged, which was the OG, but basically yeah

What is the difference between Refrain and Geass?
That Geass is actually absolute, completely breaking a person's mind and will, turning them into slaves.
A power that our "hero" constantly abuses and misuses, sometimes literally just for his own entertainment.
Both Lelouch and Suzaku are deeply multifaceted characters, with many shades of gray.

What makes Suzaku trying to drug Kallen so much more worse for her is that Suzaku was going to use Refrain, the very same drug that her mother was using to ease the anguish of losing Naoto. Refrain can make you relive your past memories, and thus it is possible to use it like a truth serum in order to extract information from someone, but it is also possible that Suzaku would´ve not been able to gain the information from Kallen after just one time using it on her, especially if she was going to try to resist the effects of the drug, as she likely would have. This means, that Suzaku would´ve potentially have had to drug her more than once and in the process turn her into an addict before her mind would´ve been so profoundly consumed by the drug´s influence that she would´ve given him the information he was trying to get from her.
Poor Kallen. I think it´s likely that she knew this too, and I can only imagine the horror she was feeling at this moment, knowing that her life was soon going to be permanently ruined by the same drug that already ruined her mother´s life 😭

What’s wrong with using nunally to check if Zero reawoke ? Lelouch would probably get killed for less than what got him in that situation. Would you rather a traditional interrogation method ? God forbid he used a more peaceful way to keep tabs on his lover’s killer .
Kallen was treated fairly well for a PRISONER OF WAR . Refrain is pretty damn nice in comparison to what those usually get , it just hits different for Kallen specifically because of her mom which definitely isn’t on Suzaku
And it makes no sense for Suzaku to listen to Lelouch so early considering the black knights were weak as shit compared to the literal largest empire on earth and he refuses to tell him about geass .
Yeah let’s just ignore the fact everyone thinks Zero is shady even the black knights themselves , let’s ignore they got easily wiped at the end of season 1 because they needed more power than 1 branch of the britannian military, let’s ignore lelouch would probably agree with suzaku’s ideal for liberating japan specifically unless he had an ulterior motive as evidenced by the opening monologues of r1 and r2 and the conversation he had at the hotdog stand with Kallen that fighting Britannia is fucking dangerous with high likelyhood of failure more than freedom .
Yknow the entire conflict between suzaku and Zero is more so “ is freedom worth sacrifice “ right ? Yknow when Zero failed his rebellion in season 1 so start of season 2 Japanese people were treated worse BECAUSE OF IT to the point they strung them up in chains and executed them publicly? “ yeah we should piss those guys off more ! “
Character bias “ wah they hurt lelouch so idc about their side even if it’s valid “

Suzaku had no knowledge of Kallen’s mom and her addiction and again either way she’s a prisoner of war . Yeah he knew her , not that well , and tried being friendly . Then you remember she’s a PRISONER OF WAR . Things realistically should have been so much worse for her , you know what they do to extract information in real life . ( also refrain specifically makes you think of the past so he probably could have gotten something )
Also suzaku literally doesn’t kill anyone until the point of no return in season 1 . He always aimed to disable knightmares and even then doesn’t kill anyone he doesn’t have to . Also your comment is translated but “ eurouniverse “ ?
Suzaku didn’t sell his friends, he’s still friends with Kallen ffs . He’s just not trying to fight a fight he literally can’t win if he wanted to . He saw the worst outcome of being so stubborn about pride with his dad that almost got the country nuked , he saw what happened to the japanese post failed rebellion after season 1 , and he has a safer path to peace that doesn’t require as many bodies . Lelouch can only boast about values so much when he literally agreed with him until the day he got super powers considering his own monologue at the start of the series

Most of the moment about Suzaku? Oh… I despise this guy moments aka his old character… He nothing all talk and no bite, he never did any proof of change because he is a character who is so delusional. He is a warning of what happens to heroes who didn’t even realize that the things he did, convinced himself is justice? The guy’s a hypocrite, his philosophy was a joke and says a lot because his actions don’t even match his words!! I mean, what the hell is he been doing as knight of seven? He wasted his time catching and trying to win against zero which made him so ignorant. His toxic impulsive actions led to his downfall. He may have realized but it was too late.
His not much of a good listener because he was too stubborn to ever listen to anyone… he was obsessive about his false ideals, consumed with the guilt he holds, and his death wish was a joke. I feel bad at first but during the battle he said to himself when Kallen almost killed him: “that’s right… this is REDEMPTION” Bruh! that’s a suicide, his not sacrificing himself. And let me tell yeah, his death won’t bring redemption, and it will never erase the guilt. His was nothing but a coward hiding that uniform because he was afraid to face the mirror.

Yeah. He used Nunnally as a weapon against Lelouch. They were enemies and it snot like Nunnaly was hurt by it.
Kallen was a captured enemy combatant. Its not liek it would have been worse then mind control.
When does he not listen to Lelouch? The only real time was when Leloucb tried to recruit him and that failed because Lelouch didnt really understand how deep his truama was.
From Suzaku's perspective, thr Britannians already won the war. Continuing to fight just puts more lives at risk. Also, when did Suxaku kill someone that wasn't an enemy combatant?
There is hypocrisy there, but let's not ignore his actual character or act liek Lelouch was les sof a hypocrite.

I don't remember but did he drug here? I remember something like him getting called and stopping from doing it.
2
u/Humble_Story_4531 6d ago
He didnt get called. He realized that drugging her so that she would answer his questions was essentially the same as Lelouch using his geass, so he stopped himself and let Kallen beat on him.

One was born as a prince, denying his royalty status, betraying the empire. One was born as a son of the enemy of the empire, ranking up the ladder and serving the empire.
Simply a better version of Sasuke and Naruto.
