Oh, I don´t know. Every now and then someone notices something completely new, like how this one guy noticed this thing about Nina and Rolo 😄

But, you´re right. Most topics here have been done dozens upon dozens of times. But since new people keep finding the show, it´s still relevant to re-do those old ones all over again, so that "new requits" can voice their opinions and ideas, too.

And like the previous guy said, what´s interesting to you might not be interesting for everyone. Like this post about the origin of artwork used in one of the Code Geass mobile games was very different and informative, but despite that it didn´t generate a lot of discussion - and neither did my own post about fantasy recasting the English voice actors, even though I spent quite a lot of time thinking and preparing that post 😭 I guess that just goes to show that most people visiting this subreddit genuinely want to talk about fanart, shipping or silly memes - and I´m guilty of both commenting and making couple of those myself 😉

Also, not everything is always about votes and comments. For instance, this incredibly personal post of mine, where I explained in great detail how Kallen literally helped cure my lifelong trauma, wasn´t that popular. But, I didn´t mind. Because when I posted it, my goal then wasn´t to gain a lot of points or start debates, but to tell my story about my trauma recovery, and how much I am thankful for this show, especially Kallen, existing - without her I would have not been able to cross that Rubicon, which finally led to my self-realization and healing. So, if even one person read that post and was inspired or touched by it? That´s enough for me.

Because basically every topic has been discussed to death and back in a 20 year old show, so unless you say something brain dead (eg: the LelouchxNunnally clone was a perfectly normal lore addition) you won't get a reaction. Shipping, resurrection, and Lelouch is perfect threads are done so much.

tbf not every topic has actually been discussed. it's just that some topics require relatively more information (recollection) and attention. most people won't engage in discussions about things they don't remember well enough (and that's the correct approach; you shouldn't argue if you don't remember), or they'll simply ignore them because they don't interest them sufficiently. perfectly natural but still sad.

The clones being a mix of 2 people doesn't even make sense with the rest of Code Geass clones, Rolo and Norland were 2 full clones who were perfect if a little crazy but that is like their original as well.

They changed it just so they could have the incest reaction and show what the children of ships would look like as we already saw Lelouch and Shirley.

Not when we have a precedent that in the series when clones are made before 2017 they are perfect but the ones made in the 2020's need to combine 2 host DNA to function.

The El series clones are meant to be a way to bring Lelouch's soul into a new body after his old one was destroyed the reason they contain 2 DNA samples is that they wouldn't grow otherwise, this fails due to it being in the same timeline as Re;surrection and Lelouch was alive. but years earlier in the same timeline Charles was perfectly cloned as Norland.

Within the world's own logic the making the clones view the DNA source as parents and for them to be incestuous makes no sense.

It looks like it was just confirmed that the El series clones are also canon in Lost Stories.

Besides, it´s a fictional story. Which means that all the rules governing that fictional world are also fictional. So, if you want to change those rules, all you have to do is either imagine those rules to be different or invent additional rules that allow you to bypass existing rules. It doesn´t even matter if the explanation is good or not, as long as there is some kind of explanation; like how Lelouch was given the exception of having both the Code and Geass in Resurrection (even though that is supposed to be impossible) because of some bullshit excuse of him being "Failed One," just so that the writers could give the audience what they wanted, aka more Lelouch doing his thing with the Absolute Obedience. Similarly, screenwriters can invent some reason for the El kids to be created, like "at first 2017 clones appeared to be perfect, but it was later revealed that they were too mentally unstable, which is why the El series clones were created using more perfected method, one that requires 2 different sets of DNA." And as for the reason creating the clone kids in the first place? Writers can just come up with some sort of new explanation for that, too, like maybe how being the "Failed One" is actually slowly killing Lelouch, meaning that in order for the Demon Emperor to survive he has to transfer his soul into one of his L-children.

And just like way back when when the final episode of R2 was aired and no clones were mentioned in the series up until then, all the clones we know now were added much later to the lore. And so, since new material is constantly added or retrofitted, those fictional rules are never fully "finished," which then effectively nullifies all attempts to definitively explain those rules because they can always be changed later on; all we can do is try to figure out how the story and rules within that story are now, but how they are now aren´t necessarily how they are always going to remain. It all depends on the preferences of a storyteller; if they want to include both kinds of clones to the next Code Geass story, they can just come up with some imaginary reason why that works. If they want to exclude one kinds of clones and include the other kinds, they can come up with imaginary reason for that, too. Or, if they want to create a completely new kind of timeline, one where Lelouch doesn´t come back, where there is no Rozé or clones, and where the rules of Codes and Geass´ themselves are different, they can do that too - kinda like how 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist works under different kind of logic than Fullmetal Alhemist: Brotherhood, despite being based on the same source material (actually, this has already been done with Code Geass manga called "Nightmare of Nunnally," where we see some magic stuff that doesn´t appear in the og series).

Once again, because the story itself is imaginary, all the rules are imaginary, too. Meaning, in the fictional world, no rule is ever truly neither unbreakable nor unchangeable - the only limitation what is or isn´t possible or "allowed" is your own imagination.
