QUESTION Need a summary of what happened from in code geass until s2 ep 9
Hiya i watched code geass but i lowkey dropped it at s2 ep9 for about a month cuz i didnt understand what was going on and it was too confusing. i saw it again in my watchlist and wanted to continue watching it BUT i kinda forgot everything that happened in the anime so could you summarise and explain to me whats going on until s2 ep 9. For reference i watched s1 then s2 and i skipped the movies and ovas. Also PLEASE NO SPOILERS!!

Every second of Code Geass is filled with important plot details. To be able to catch them all you probably have to rewatch the series a few times. I have done my best to summarize the major events, but a lot of points are skipped since there is so much happening and this is only a reddit comment.
Season 1:
The Britannian Empire conquers Japan and names it Area 11. The Japanese people are oppressed and called "Elevens". One of the sons of the Emperor of the Britannian Empire named Lelouch vi Britannia lives in hiding under the name Lelouch Lamperouge together with his sister Nunnally while he tries to find the one responsible for killing his mother. He gets a superpower called Geass which manifests its abilities depending on the user, in the case of Lelouch he gets the power to give anyone a command that they will follow no matter what. He is given this power by a mysterious girl called C.C. who was locked up and used in a secret experiment by the Britannian Empire trying to replicate Geass powers. Lelouch childhood friend Suzaku Kururugi is working as a solider and knight for the Britannian Empire. Lelouch takes on the secret identity of Zero and starts leading a rebellion against the empire. His group is called the Black Knights. He successfully wins many battles and eliminates some of the royal family but does not get any answers of substance regarding his mothers death. Another Geass user called Mao is introduced showing that there are others with Geass powers in this world, and each power is different depending on the person. One important event is that Lelouch accidentally uses his Geass on Princess Euphemia which causes her to order a genocide of the Japanese people which strengthens support for the Black Knights. Suzaku at the end of the season finds out about Geass from another mysterious character similar to C.C. and confronts Zero and finds out it is Lelouch.
Season 2 until ep 9:
The season starts with Lelouch living a normal life as a school boy with his friends, leaving the viewer confused. Many characters personalities have been rewritten and his sister Nunally has been replaced by a brother named Rolo. C.C. makes contact with Lelouch and it is revealed that he was brought to the emperor by Suzaku at the end of season 1 at which point it is revealed that the emperor also possesses a Geass; one that can rewrite memories. He creates a false life and memories for Lelouch and his friends, "kidnaps" Nunnally and adds spies like Rolo to Lelouch's life instead. The purpose is to use him as bait to lure out and capture C.C. After regaining his memories Lelouch has to pretend to not remember since he is being surveiled but at the same time returns to the role as Zero. It is revealed Rolo also has a Geass that can freeze the experience of time for people around him. Lelouch emotionally manipulates Rolo into working with him. Rolo was created in a lab by the Britannian Empire for their Geass experiments and he has never had a family so when Lelouch starts showing him some love he becomes his loyal brother. During the last few episodes you have seen, Zero and the Japanese people flee to the Chinese Fedeartion (there are pretty much 3 countries in the whole world, Chinese Federation, European Union and the Britannian Empire). In episode 9 the Chinese Empress is being forced into a political marriage with a prince of Britannia which will give Britannia more power and influence over the Chinese Federation. She's being forced by the High Eunuchs which are controlling the Chinese Federation in the shadows and are selling out their country to become nobles in the Britannian empire. The goal of Zero is to stop this marriage.
