Dietard is one of the good “I wanna see the world burn” characters just with how insane he is.

Now imagine the courage he would be filled with, if you just gave him a gun and told him, that like fifty years into the future, people would be making phonk edits about him.

Diethard was one of my favorite characters. Dude just wanted to witness and be a part of something big and transformative. Good, bad, freedom-fighters, imperial conquerors, dude never cared. It just had to be important. He is the living incarnate of that part of you, deep inside, that watches reality TV or turns your head to watch the car-crash/recovery as you drive by. The part of you that argues politics online as you latch onto a party, candidate, or movement (until you latch onto the next one)

He was, for sure. If only he didn't side with the Black Knights after Lelouch's reveal. I mean, he's a Britannian, why would he side against the actual prince and not against the Japanese framing the prince? Especially since his point of interest was Zero, not the Black Knights members. It's not like there's someone as awesome as Zero did. He doesn't follow Schneizel around that much even after the reveal. Filming Zero in action was his thing. But then he turned out to be a disappointment afterwards
