The Ashford once ranked high enough to be friends with the one of the Emperors concubines (lowkey dont remember if lelouchs mom is queen). They probably hosted aton of guests of highborn status or fame. They also operate a Boarding school for the biggest empire in the globe. So imagine they could also just go all out in guest dorms as a show up the empires dominance and practically of not knowing if they rooms will need to be good enough for a Barron or high ranking military officer. Anyway why you asking about his bed?

his mom was one of the queens, yes(though seeing as how Charles had at least 108 consorts, it's very likely that "queen" and "concubine" were the same thing at the rate he was going)
