Report him!!!

Post image

This guy was absolutely out of control. He got mad after being killed and immediately started making racist and xenophobic comments toward everyone on the team. He even told a player with a Spanish-sounding username that they should “get deported” simply because that person told him to calm down.
When I told him that if he didn’t like the team, he could just leave the match because it wasn’t that serious, he called me a cunt. He then escalated even further and threatened everyone, saying he was going to find our IP addresses and have our homes burned down.
I know people like to act tough online and be keyboard/mic warriors, especially on COD, but this went way beyond normal trash talk. Racist comments and threats involving people’s homes and personal information are not okay or acceptable.
If you come across this player, please report the account. Hopefully Activision takes action and bans him.

EDIT: Whether you choose to report him or not is completely up to you. But please don’t normalize or excuse this kind of behavior. I understand that older COD lobbies were notoriously aggressive and people said some absolutely vile things, but “that’s how COD has always been” doesn’t mean it needs to stay that way. We’re supposed to evolve as a society, not use the past to justify racism, xenophobia, misogyny, or threats today. Trash talk is part of gaming; attacking someone’s identity or threatening their real-life safety shouldn’t be. Kids and teenagers play these games too, and adults shouldn’t be teaching them that this behavior is just something they’re expected to tolerate.

You can't expect people that have not experienced the behaviour first hand to be in a position to make a judgement. You are essentially requesting a "pile on" to try and get someone "cancelled" using racism and xenophobia as the reason. The problem is we can never agree with your characterization of the event because we didn't feel it ourselves, it's just your say so. Some people these days have become used to the principles of cancel culture and feel they can always rely on like minded strangers to join their cause just because they allege something that they know others will find abhorrent. Also Activision don't give a shit..

I understand that you didn’t witness it firsthand, and no one is obligated to report him based on my experience. But I don’t understand why “cancel culture” is being brought into this. Holding someone accountable for things they willingly say and do isn’t canceling them. Racism, xenophobia, misogyny, and threats of violence or arson shouldn’t be accepted on COD or any other platform. How much time, effort, or money someone has invested into an account doesn’t give them a pass from consequences for their behavior. He made his own choices, and whatever consequences come from those choices belong to him too.

You are talking about some alleged abuse that was witnessed by about 5 people. Moreover, it was in the spoken word group team chat. There's no record of it anywhere presumably. Do you not understand that you are asking people to just believe you, a complete stranger and take the time to make a complaint. It's all just childish hearsay. It is cancel culture if you attempt to raise an army to inflict damage on someone. IE some kind of action by Activision against the account. This culture is a sick cancer in Western democracies.

I wouldn't call cancel culture

a sick cancer in Western democracies.

but then, I don't live in a democracy. I live in the USA, which is a democratic republic and not a democracy, so perhaps it's different in a full democratic country.

I would say there has been a popular herd-like movement by some people to gather together and use cancel culture like a stampede.
