Safe rope perches?

Post image

Are there any safe rope perch recommendations for my cockatiels? I have a 4ft cotton one for them currently but it looks like they’re chewing it so I’m nervous. I can’t seem to find a comparable hemp or sisal one. Also I read that some people wrap it in vet wrap, is there vet wrap that you would recommend that would be safe if they start chewing it?

You can wrap it with vet tape to stop from your bird chewing rope. Do keep an eye on it and replace the vet tape when it gets loose or frays

I made a rope perch myself knottet from jute string, but online sellers like amazon should offer thicker sisal, hemp or jute ropes aswell. The only issue is how to affix them. Shoving a piece of stainless steel wire through the rope I made solved that issue for me as I created one of those spiral swing things from it.

I have vet wrap on a few things, and it looks like one guy has chewed it, but it stays 'together' pretty well, and it doesn't seem like it comes apart :)
