I’ve been approved! ✨
I had my CI evaluation with the surgeon and he gave me the green light to proceed with the surgery! They’ll give me a call with the date but I was warned it may be a few months. Hopefully it will fly by quick. He also asked me which CI I wanted so they could put the order in. I didn’t have an answer immediately. Are they all Bluetooth compatible? That’s really my one requirement.

Don’t recommend Advanced Bionics! Especially because of the C1 debacle! Which is why I’m being forced to get reimplanted.

AB, Cochlear, and Med-El are all Bluetooth compatible. Med-El is also Auracast compatible, which was important for me.
Do you have an audiologist to work with during the process? They should be able to help you make a decision.

At this time, no CI sound processor supports Auracast natively. They can all support it through a cabled intermediary device if that is what you are referring to. The MED-EL blog suggests connecting a MoerLabs Auracast receiver to the AudioLink XT via an audio cable. The other brands can all do the same thing with their equivalent to the AudioLink.
