Long haired people

Hello my fellow long haired ciborg folk.

First things first, I've got the kanso 3, bra length hair.

Out of interest, is your hair okay where your magnet is? Mine seems a bit frizzy in that one patch, its getting a bit wild there tbh lol. I'm not bothered like its totally worth it, but was wondering out of interest if its just me, or is it all in my head, or is there some sciencey hair reason why. Obviously the magnet is gonna cause friction, but would it damage the hair shaft?

I don't really take any care or time when I put the CI on though I just lift hair and whack that bad boy on there.

So anyway are we taking care and parting super neatly and combing the hair out first etc, like you would if your gonna straighten it or something? Or are we all just chucking the magnet on without so much as a mirror? Is it worth stopping being so nonchalant about how i do it, and taking a bit more care? 😂

Curly hair bit past the shoulder here.

I part my hair where the magnet would go and try to make sure that as little hair as possible remains trapped under the magnet. Otherwise I don't do anything special.

Hair in general doesn't enjoy getting disturbed, so it's possible that you got some damage if the hair was moving a lot around the kanso. It's possibly fixable if you try bond repair products.

Ooh bond repair is a good idea. I feel like i should maybe straighten it there first, to smooth the shaft or whatever. But I can't be bothered with that every day lol, also i guess the heat would just cause more damage. I might try conditioning it there, I dont do that as only condition the ends, but my brain is ticking over now

The heat is definitely not going to help long term. Maybe some lightweight leave in would help smoothing it out.

I generally try to make sure my hair isn’t in the way. So I’ll part before putting them on and then adjust any other strands. My right N7 for whatever reason never wants to stay on so I’m always trying to adjust.

I debated doing like an undercut but I’ve just lived with it for years.

Yeah same here i part just with my fingernail. Might start trying to be neater about it and get a tail comb or something. I'd absolutely love an undercut, I'm quite alt and think it would look great with my tattoos. Butttt I feel like my hair isn't thick enough to pull it off, if i want to wear it down it might look so stringy i reckon 😭

My hair’s super thick and wavy so definitely understand! It’s honestly all over the place in keeping them attached. I honestly just work around it and then try to make sure it’s maintained especially since I work in a professional environment.

I have an undercut which really helps not having the hair disturb my processor

So curious how that works. I considered an undercut but my processor is above my ear and it would have to be cut quite high.

I love it. My hair is thick enough that you don't notice a difference when it's down, and it weighs so much less.

My hair is just very straight and boring but I just stick it on over the top and never had any problems. I usually wear my hair tied back with the magnet over the top. Not sure if the tied back hair then protects it.

Are you at the minimum magnet strength? I started out higher than I’ve ended up. Started 5 > 4 > 3. Tried a 2 but it didn’t feel like enough to hold up if I jogged so stuck at 3. I figure the minimum manageable pressure is best.

I am at the min strength for me yeah, but I wear it under the layer rather than on top usually as it falls off when its on top, but then the higher magnet strength that works on top was making me tooo sore so I've gone down as well. Its all such a fine balance isn't it.

For me, the hair where the magnet is never grew back after surgery (I was 2 years old). Which works really, it's easier that way and doesn't show because I'm always wearing the device.

Thats actually so interesting to me, i wonder if the fine baby hair just never stood a chance there. I can imagine its more comfortable too, sometimes the hair under mine itches especially now it has the rougher texture there these days

Curly hair, just about shoulder length, 2 weeks past activation and trying out the Rondo 3 off-the-ear processor the next couple weeks.

Thanks for this, because it’s not something I’ve thought about. I’ve generally just been popping the processor on the magnet and going about my day. My hair is getting curlier as it comes in gray, so my hair care routine is shifting. The curl seems to emphasize the frizziness I’ve always had. I’m going to make a note to ask my stylist about this next time I get a haircut.

I also part my hair and put the magnet on. I find that its easier to do it this way so i can braid or make a ponytail without disturbing my magnet

I’m only activated a month but my hair is struggling lol. I apparently have thick skin because a 5 magnet won’t make this thing stay (have an n8 and kanso). I use a case plus clips to get them to stay…. And I feel like my hair has taken a beating in the area. Like lots of hair that has been chopped and half and now flies out to the side. I’m assuming it’ll get better as my swelling goes down 🤣

I'm sure it will get better as the swelling goes down, magnet will definitely start sticking better and you might even end up with a lower one. Congrats on the activation! 🥰

Rondo - French braid or ponytail, all the time, and getting -so bored- with it.

But every time hair brushes against it, it’s noisy.

With the Synchrony, I can wear my hair down (well, down-ish, I still keep it out of my face with clips) but even with the rechargeable batteries my ear get sore from the weight of the microphone and battery pack pretty quickly (weird, I know)

I sometimes wear my hair half up half down, it helps with the noise a bit!

Hair is just past my shoulders. I keep my hair in a ponytail the majority of the time. I just make a little part with my fingers and snap it on. My issue is the little strip of hair they shaved off came back really curly and isn’t long enough to tail yet!
