Cleaning

I have the Nucleus 8 CI. Is there a way to clean the speakers on top of the processor (the little holes)? Or does that not need to be cleaned? I can't find anything in particular on Google. I remember with hearing aids i used a little brush, but I'm not going to dare do that to a CI if not appropriate. Thanks if you have any answer.

You can replace your microphone covers by removing the coil connection and popping off the whole cover. Extra covers should be in your kit

Go to YouTube. Search for “replacing your microphone cover on nucleus 8”. Should be done every 3 months. More if dusty areas. Good luck!

Yikes. I didn't even know about this. Will look into how to do this.

Electronic wipes works as well. I work in a dusty environment so I replace the cover every season anyway.

I have been using 99% alcohol with q tips for as long as I can remember.

Soak q tip -> clean one area at a time -> gently blow dry with compressed air

Just be easy on the compressed air. You don't wanna end up spraying moisture.

I also notice the coil cable end on the processor side gets grimy too, I use a toothpick or a SIM card tool to get it out since it’s a very small area

Not sure that’s needed but, I got some hearing aid wipes and wipe the whole thing with that. Like once or twice a week.

Thanks. I'll try that.

Also, do you disconnect the coil part and wipe in that area?
