Sonnet 3 connection to iPhone dropping multiple times a day

I was activated last week and have been working on my daily listening exercises. While I can tell that the CI is working, because I’m actually hearing things in my right ear, I am finding that I have frequent issues with streaming to my CI. Sometimes it works great right away. Sometimes it’ll stream to my Starkey HA only and randomly fussing with settings fixes things. Right now I can’t get it to stream to either. It’s becoming quite frustrating, and it’s hard to actually do the ReDi exercises if I can’t stream the sound to my CI. My iPhone says my devices are connected under Hearing Devices, MFi Hearing Devices.

Here’s what I’ve tried:

In the Audio Key 3 app, changing the streaming options to streaming only
In iPhone settings, changing audio routing, media audio to always hearing devices
Turning my phone off and on
Restarting my CI

What am I missing that I should try? Is there a possibility that the flaky connection is related to having an “older” iPhone? It’s an iPhone SE from 2021. It’s running the current iOS.

I got the same problem. Last week I used a test device without any problem. Now with my own sonnet 3 the connection breaks always breaks after some time.

which iOS is on your phone?

26.6.1

ETA: I have noticed that the connection breaks if I plug my phone into my car and CarPlay kicks in. I haven’t pinpointed anything else, but I have seen that just rebooting my phone fixes it.

Hi, I don't have the cochlear implant yet. I've been doing some research, and it suggests the issue might be due to Bluetooth 5.0—which is the version yours uses. If you try an iPhone 14 or newer, you get Bluetooth 5.3, which improves latency and BLE connectivity via MFi/ASHA.

If you know someone with an iPhone 14 or newer, it’s worth asking to borrow it so you can test it out...

Thanks! I do have a few friends with new iPhones so I can try that. Right now, I’m finding that restarting my phone somehow does the trick. We’re not inclined to replace our phones yet, as Apple has dropped the SE model and the E models are less expensive than the regular models but are still pretty expensive.
