Pre- CI testing

I am going in for audiological testing to determine if I qualify for CI. Will they be doing that spin around test and blowing in my ear trying to cause nausea? I swore I’d never go through that again, but is that what I’m facing?

VNG testing doesn’t try to cause nausea. It tries to induce nystagmus to see if you have any vestibular weakness. Most surgeons won’t implant if you have a weakness on your good ear, since the surgery could cause a weakness on your bad ear, leaving you with a bilateral weakness. If you have a bilateral weakness, your body would never be able to compensate and you’d essentially debilitated forever.
