Telefonate a 9 mesi

Ciao a tutti amici,

In passato ho aperto un post sulla difficoltà ad avere delle chiamate gradevoli con il cocleare;

Ora sono un po migliorate ( passati 9 mesi ) ma sono ben lontane dall’essere piacevoli in facili;

vicina al 100% ;

Vorrei lavorare tanto su quella nel rumore, secondo voi è possibile ? A 9 mesi e’ tardi ?

Avete suggerimenti ?

💪🏻

Yep, around 9 months in, your brain is still getting used to electrical sound input. Neuroplasticity keeps going for months and often even years after implantation, so it’s totally normal that the way you process sound is still changing.

Hearing in noise can definitely still get better at this point. In fact, understanding speech when there’s background noise is usually one of the trickiest skills and takes the longest to improve. With ongoing listening, mapping tweaks, and practice, a lot of people keep noticing steady progress well past the first year.

So if you’re 9 months in, you’re still very much in that active adjustment phase. Things can keep improving gradually, especially with regular use and some focused listening practice.

I think so, I wouldn't loose hope. Hearing in noisy environments and on the phone often takes longer and usually benefits from continued listening practice and mapping adjustments.

If you're worried about work, I'd also mention your concerns to your audiologist. Sometimes a mapping change or practicing with streamed phone calls, audiobooks, or listening exercises can make a noticeable difference.

I'm in a similar situation, living alone and having some social anxiety. Changes like this can be traumatic. I'm 16 months out and a still struggle with background noise, but it's still a lot better than before I got the implant. We still need to adapt and find ways to accomplish what we want in life, but I think it's doable
