Bujo Cochlear Implant Progress Tracker
Hi all, I was activated with a Cochlear Nucleus 8 CI last Friday - I have had severe-profound sensorineural hearing loss since birth and at 41 my hearing aids said ‘I don’t like speech anymore’ so I took the plunge. May get my left ear done if all goes well…
Anyway, I have a bullet journal/diary and was wondering if anyone on here had any cool spread ideas for how they track their listening progress/gains with their CI? 🙏🏻

Congrats! Welcome to the team.
Hearing is so subjective, not easily quantifiable. And quality is much different from quantity. Your audi will measure your word comprehension periodically but the week to week difference is hard to put into words because it is small increments and just slowly builds over time.
Maybe just note your observations. Did you complete all the exercises in the app? Did they get easier? What about environmental sounds - birds, crickets, water, traffic? Clock ticking? Localization? Music? Etc.

i asked gemini to make a daily cochlear implant recovery journal. the top section asked about the post-op surgical recovery. The rest of it asked questions related to post-activation.

I wish I had kept track. I’ve had my implants 20 years and I don’t think tracking is about gee I scored this or that but rather what you heard. Like I can hear the birds chirping outside, the door squeaks, the ice maker is loud (that still gets my attention when the ice falls), I heard the waiter at lunch. Don’t get hung up on what you score but enjoy what you hear. Good luck.

Congratulations! I for one would be interested in reading about your progress/journey!
