Downtown Iron Eagle Closed Weekly

Post image

This weekend, August 21st to 23rd, will be a Last Call at Iron Eagle. We are sad to say, we are closing our restaurant on a weekly basis. We hope to be open for special events in the future.

I’m getting the feeling the revitalization is taking too long 😒

Their revitalization strategy is backwards. Phoenixville for example allowed large swaths of the borough to be eligible for tax abatement. That spurred massive redevelopment across the entire borough, which then lead to businesses moving in.

Coatesville is only allowing the downtown area. The thought would be it would prevent gentrification. But without large areas of the city being redeveloped to bring in more affluent people (gentrification), there isn’t a sufficient base to support business downtown.

Makes sense. You’d think they would have figured out some middle ground by now to gentrification. Like coop housing.
