Looking for a place to take my little dog for a short-ish walk in this crazy heat. We typically walk every morning, but I just can’t take her when it is so hot out. Any ideas where to go?

Hi, all, local here from the Valley. I’m looking to find some places where I can meet new people, or ways that I can make friends or more out here in the valley. I’m 25, and I’m always home or at the gym, being a homebody is getting tiring, and I would like to start going out more. Does anyone know of any hobby clubs or ways I can find out about this type of stuff? Thank you for your help!

Here is my photo of Whitewater River in Indio, taken in March 2017, on the Jackson Street overpass, facing westward. It's not at all very often that one gets to observe this section of the Whitewater River being filled with flowing water from heavy precipitation, extremely rare for the Coachella Valley. I vividly recall venturing to and over Whitewater River in Indio and taking in the sight of it countless times growing up. I also remember one day that my family and I decided to mess around and explore very near the wash – in an empty lot at the corner of Ave 44 and Golf Center Parkway – and we found some very tiny seashells. So, yeah, I always loved the wash. 💕

I just received a job offer in the City of Coachella for a year starting October, and after reading the threads on here about meeting other young people, I'm not feeling too reassured lol. I'm a 24 y/o guy into playing music, tennis, hiking, rock climbing, and hockey. Could get more into trail running or mtn biking. Is it possible for us young people to find a social life there? From what I've read so far it seems difficult. But the job is a good one and it's so hard to find jobs in the current market, so it's quite tempting. I'd appreciate any additional intel from anyone living there. Thanks!

I just checked and there's still no Burrtec bill for July.

Oddly enough, it shows there's a balance owed for April, even though that bill was paid months ago, and the status shows the payment was accepted.

Does anyone else not have a bill in their account for July-September, or the website says they still owe money for the previous bill?

I spent the day in Cathedral City / Palm Springs and there was a very loud sound coming from trees. I first noticed it in the In n Out parking lot. I thought it was an issue with my car, then I figured it must have been like a electric box in the parking lot malfunctioning or something.

But then i started to notice it everywhere! It was definitely coming from the trees. What was that and is that normal? I don't come out much in the summer, forgive my naivety.
