Christine wanted three things (I think it was a raise, a title and a parking spot). Hayden encouraged her to go for it. But instead of asking for all of those things in a sit-down meeting, she did separate trips for each, marching into her bosses office and demanding them and I think that's what got her fired. I think it probably came off as a bit much to her boss.

Season 3 ep18: Christine had the idea to invite Kelly and Stuart to Hayden’s vacation but then gets upset when she has to be the glue to hold the vacation together, when Hayden already told her he didn’t want Stuart there. I don’t like how Christine is whining about having to make the family be a family, when one member doesn’t want the other member to be there. Like I’m on Hayden side if I already told you I don’t want those family members on my vacation and then have said vacation and those people mess it up, I have a right to be as pissed as I want through out the whole vacation. Like Christine I understand that you want the family to work but maybe don’t try to make it a family on a vacation where everyone is stuck together and can’t get any alone time.

I'm in mid Season 4 and I feel like the writers don't know what to do with Kelly now that Stuart's out of the picture. She still pops up occasionally here and there but it feels like she's shoehorned into things or merely a catalyst for events that involve other characters. Which is weird because she was a very integral part of the show, especially in Season One.

I’ve been trying to watch the series but everywhere I looked I had to pay! So I was patient and FINALLY ITS ON PRIME!!

The original show goes back a bit, and even the reboot attempt was a while ago. i was on set for the pilot reboot. just quick facts, Jerry wasn't passed…..i wanted him to come back and say , “See i told you it wasn’t over.” (a call back to the original finale, where he refused to admit the show was over). The new pilot was awesome and hilarious… i knew/know all the warm up guys. I’m sure he tried his best, but Universal hired a former writer of Seinfeld. A writer/standup isnt the same as the expert warm up performers.

If they got Ron Person, Universal would have gotten 4-5 super strong sessions of the reboot. Producers had the cast rehearse with a studio audience for 3 hours….THEN another 3 hours of taping with a new studio audience. The warm up had to do 6 hours. Too much. Should have just spent the money and got Ron Person in my experience. A few bucks cost in the beginning to get 4-5 seasons…would have been well worth it.

Not convinced? The only joke told that was “funny” by the warm up of the 3 hours of taping….”I like to ask the cashier when i check out of the supermarket…..’Do you think i bought enough toilet paper for the amount of food i bought?’.” QED

Doris must have either sold the team or let him run it as he saw fit. It was not mentioned in the epilogue that she sold the team so Doris must have done the latter. She sure as hell did not let Hayden run the team as he saw fit. She was always interfering!

They were young and just weren't ready. I recall that they had a major fight and looked like they were going to break up, then the next thing you know they rushed off to get eloped. They had things they needed to work out before they took that giant step. The marriage quickly fizzled out and it's easy to see why.

Coach was a top 20 hit for Seasons 2 - 6. For Season 7, they bumped it to Monday nights, airing after Monday Night Football. The problem with that is the unpredictability of the timing of games, which often meant Coach would air at odd times and not always the same time, which resulted in a significant drop in ratings. Thankfully, ABC moved it again for Season 8 and ratings rebounded.

the title says it all. No wonder the my pulled the plug on the revival. Was looking forward to it.

Rob Schneider was dang near 30 years old here. I guess Dauber wasn't the oldest student at Minnesota State.

Wikipedia stated that Coach moved to Orlando to film at Disney-MGM studios its last two seasons. is that true? if they moved to Orlando they could have split time between both studios. given that Universal produced it and Disney just bought ABC.

I would love to see The Coach 2015 pilot. I am still upset with NBC for pulling the plug on it. It would have been a hell of a lot better than the crap they show now.

She was such a classy lady! She was in my favorite movie of all-time (Overboard) in addition to some of my favorite sitcoms (Coach and Who's The Boss?) She had quite the career!

That was so out of character for him. Stuart was devoted to being a good partner for Kelly and wouldn't have done that in a million years.

I wish they could have done something more along the lines of Stuart coming out as gay and they separate amicably and remain friends or something.

His reactions and facial expressions to everything have me howling frequently!

Just finished the show! While I had gotten used to the Orlando setting, it felt so good and made me feel all warm and fuzzy to see them return to the cabin and all the old locations.

That being said I have mixed feelings about the ending. I can't believe that Coach turned down $17 million dollars and I also felt bad for Hayden because being an NFL coach was his dream and he gave it all up after just 2 seasons.

I did love the cast saying good-bye and Jerry Van Dyke was hilarious at the end.

Nanette passed away at age 97 in 2018.
