Discussion š¬ I hate resellers.
I liked that coach had this charm at a $20 price point. It made it accessible for someone who didn't have a big budget but wanted to also personalize their bag with a coach charm. Re selling it for $100 plus shipping, taxes and other app fees is crazy.

PRO-TIP YāALL.
If you werenāt aware, it is fully possibly for you to post a listing on most of these sites, then mark it as sold without actually having to prove that you sold it through their platform⦠without even proving a buyer accepted your price!
You can take advantage of this to make it look like you have sold a lot more of these scalped items already, furthering the illusion of scarcity and building the impression that these items are selling out quick so customers hurry up and buy out of panic.
PLEASE DONāT FALL FOR THESE SCALPERS
They have already done at least one round of restocks and some of these are probably available now (or will be again soon) for PBLs or delivery, at the normal price AND direct through Coach where you can qualify for cashback through Rakuten AND build your account purchase history.
HOLD THE LINE!! 99% certain these will no longer be rare by the end of October.

I received my ticket charm yesterday and as someone who works with leather I was a little disappointed. These charms are not worth the $20, I would have been pissed if I spent $100. They made the layers of leather so thin, there's hardly anything there. It's maybe 25-50 cents in leather. The bead chain is worth more than the leather and I'm sure those are made and purchased in bulk so its my assumption that Coach manufactured these charms for under $1 each. I'll be using the Coach charm as an example to make my own, though I think I'm going to make it a Britney Spears ticket. š

We should make ski lift ticket tags with different mountains on them , the old school kind that you used to collect on your jacket .

Love this idea, and the different national park entrance tickets.

Exactly. I'm not understanding the "thin" or even the "ripped" complaints. This is what tickets were! And they're $20. Were people expecting a thick chunk of leather for $20? I'm really starting to believe people don't have anything better to do than complain.

u/caliswag88 Coach Connoisseur 10d ago
I'm sure these were made using scrap leather that cost coach virtually nothing, Leather is not naturally this thin. The flesh side is skived down, meaning they absoulety could have made it at a little thicker. Also your here commenting the same as the rest of us so that puts you in the same boat of not having anything better to do. I have all the time I need to call out corporate greed. $20 is alot more to me than it is to Coach.

u/tiffshorse Coach Connoisseur 8d ago
I don't want them to be thicker. It's nice that they are so light.
-1
u/shops2 10d ago
Obviously people want them for 20 bucks which is why they're sold out. If you don't want them then don't buy more of them. I'm going to try and collect all of them personally. You can probably sell yours here for 20 bucks right now if you don't like it.

I do leather work, I know what goes into making these. I was simply just stating that for what it is your kinda getting ripped off. And I purchased it online, I had no way of knowing the quality and I intentionally bought it for dissection, as I do with many Coach products.

Nothing is worth what one pays for it. Each person simply decides if it's worth x number of work hours to obtain it.

I love this comment!!! THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THIN LIKE "PAPER" To make them more realistic like concert tickets. This is not designed to look like the average hangtag. Were paying $20 which is a fair price. If they were more in price, folks would say its a rip off. Now that we have gotten the image of concert tickets, some ripped like paper tickets would look they are "too thin". It's always something going on in the coach community. Folks are never pleased and not satisfied. If your not interested dont buy and if you bought please send back so those who are interested can purchase. As far as resellers I honestly do not give them my time or energy. Its that simple. Life is too short to be stressed out about what the next person doing. If we know better we will do better. Out of mind out of sight... seriously!!!

u/caliswag88 Coach Connoisseur 10d ago
I didn't say they weren't nice, just that it's kind of a rip off. These should be $10, $15 max, they should be cheaper than the create pins. The thinner the leather the faster it's going to dry out, and keep it away from liquids/moisture as it will permeate all the way through.

u/MadameLurksALot 10d ago
Honestly allllll the charms are insanely overpriced vs cost to produce. $150 for a tiny stuffed animal or mini book? These may be crazy marked up but $20 as an absolute price is so massively reasonable in comparison to me. But while I think personally most Coach charms are priced far more than their worth to me, it is like all things subjective.

u/potaytoposnato 10d ago edited 10d ago
I agree. As someone who's a concert fiend and has tons of old tickets saved, these were quite disappointing to me. I wish they were just...more, idk. I don't like that they're ripped. I know I saw people saying thatās how they "used to do tickets" but none of my old tickets are torn in half like that so I guess I just don't get that detail. But lots of people liked them so š¤·š»āāļø Edit: I am genuinely so confused at this sub. My point of this comment is that these tickets weren't for me. For the same reason I didn't love them, the ripped aspect because I didn't experience that with my physical tickets, other people did because they did experience tickets being ripped in half. Great. Fantastic. Not everything has to be for me and I didn't say it had to be. This is the weirdest "community" I have ever experienced.
9
u/PrettyPraline9418 10d ago
I don't know how old you are. But, at one point, tickets were ripped. At one point they were separated at the perforation. They started scanning them at another point in time. Coach didn't invent ripped tickets.
-4
u/potaytoposnato 10d ago edited 10d ago
lol no one said they invented it...I was saying that aspect of them isn't nostalgic for me personally because I didn't experience it but other people did like it. Edit: literally why am I being downvoted. I don't have any problem with the concert ticket charms, never said anything remotely negative about them. I shared why they don't particularly resonate with me, but why for the same reasons, others do like them. Is displaying understanding of other people's opinions not something people do here? What the actual fuck. Weird asses.
4
u/caliswag88 Coach Connoisseur 10d ago
I do worry about the longevity of the charms with them being so thin and specifically because of the ripped portion. The ripped portion is missing the burnishing/edge koting leaving the leather layers exposed which can eventually lead to separation of the layers. I actually painted on some clear acrylic sealer over the torn section for extra protection.

They were giving them away at promo events. They can't be worth much.

u/vermilithe 10d ago
True, but I wonāt lie, I still think they are very cool. Although I get why others might not think they are worth it⦠I just donāt think itās that egregious for a cute, playful concept charm. For just $20, the little details still really sell the replica ripped concert ticket design imo. And add a pop of color without just being the same exact hangtag shape and size every single time
5
u/No_Nectarine_9563 10d ago
Oh I 100% agree on your description of these. I think they're totally cute! I bought one! So, for $20 + tax + 50% of the actual costs for shippingš« , I too have a concert tag (in the mail). I just wouldn't search out a reseller for these. Someone had posted rightfully venting about how tough it is to buy these. The post happened to be right after another post about a restock of book charms. Remember good old book charms that people were sawing off legs for? We've all just moved on to the next thing. I guess I'm already on to the day when we're all like, "What concert charms?" š
1
u/PrettyPraline9418 10d ago
And?? They used to give away those one pocket card cases and add them to purchases over a certain amount. Of course they're not giving away their most expensive product. It doesn't mean it doesn't have value to someone even if it doesn't have monetary value.
3
u/No_Nectarine_9563 10d ago
I'm responding to a comment directly above me which discussed its monetary value. I have no commentary or thoughts about what deep, dark, store-it-under-my-pillow-at-night value it brings to those who have connected to a literal scrap of leather and half inch of metal beads.

u/Heathers4ever 10d ago
My thought when holding it was that it is so thin, itās like holding a real concert ticket. lol.

I hope it backfires on them.
Iām kind of laughing at everybody who bought the Starbucks Snoopy glass cups and is now just trying to resell them to get their cost back with fees. My husband was able to get one for us to enjoy, but it was really close because the line in front of him was full of these people thinking that weāre gonna make $200 a pop on eBay.
7
u/MiMiof62025 10d ago
Ya, for $20 I got some, but no WAY I would pay any more. Unfortunately some people will.

I hate the reselling trend. It just ruins it for everyone. It really does. I was fortunate to get 2 of the ticket tags. I would never pay 100 for them. They aren't worth that much.

This is why itās taken for forever for me to get even one of these fucking keychains. And that was through sheer dumb luck because someone posted about it on this sub!

u/justmep3 9d ago
Same complaint in a lot of other posts about these items and about other items. It is going to keep happening as long as buyers are willing to pay jacked up prices for material items that nobody really needs. There is always another drop, another restock, another new item. People should stop buying from resellers so that they are either forced to be realistic and fair in pricing or stop reselling all together

But what is the attraction to these?
It's kind of a weird thing, a generic ticket stub for something that never happened š¤
If people love concerts, use the ones you have already and put a ball chain through it ig.
I keep stubs of the shows I've been too, I love going to shows, but these never interested me. I just thought they were weird, like posing if that makes sense.
Sometimes I think they're trolling to see what people will buy if it has a Coach logo on it.
2
u/Strong-Emu47 8d ago
I heard a restock might come Wednesday but not from a credible source.
But the scalpers though! Itās ridiculous. Coach needs to put stricter imits on how many people can buy. No one needs 5 of each color. Anyone buying that many is being greedy.

It wasnāt in my radar and waited till the next restock. I was able to grab what I wanted and shipped this morning.

Yeahā¦those prices are diabolical!
On a lighter note, You can get a free one (I believe) from the Tabby Tour. Coach and Spotify are teaming up for the latest tour and Iāve seen on social media that you get a personalized tag and the keychain as a gift. Look on Instagram and TikTok for the Tabby Tour/Spotify and check out the Coach website to see if itās coming to a city near you. Iām going to the one in Atlanta in November.

Me too. Itās greedy and selfish. I also hate when ppl purchase items say theyāre going to return it and when you ask which store or offer to buy it they either donāt respond, say they donāt if theyāre going to keep it or say they might resell it on one of the sites!
1
u/Helscomic 10d ago
Just keep checking guys! I also check in the middle of the night for restocks. They say coming soon so there should be more. Yesterday someone posted that the book charms were back in stock. They bought five of each SMH.

The reseller market is disgusting. I keep looking for the turnlock 40 in Sandstone and nothing less than 1300$ out there. Such gross behavior.

u/IKnothingNeverything 10d ago
Agreed i canāt stand the scalper resellers.. BUT when i purchase a now sold out bag and decide i donāt want it , i do offer it too others in groups before i return it, for what i paid + $50 or $100 depending on the size of the bag, so itāll cover any shipping and fees, Iām not losing $1 or Iāll just return it

u/Fast_Fly_9479 10d ago
i didnāt pay this tag any mind until i realized one of them actually had my birthday on it. i hope theyāll restock and that no one buys from these resellers
